Signed a contract with the owner of the company in June 2018. I provided a deposit ($5,600) with the contract - I was given a start date by the owner - several start dates came and went and no work and no contact. I sent emails and left messages - and finally in October 2018 an email from the owner was returned and she said she decided to close the office. I asked about my deposit and requested it to be returned. She (the owner) told me it wouldn't be a problem and that I would get my money back... it is now the end of December 2018 - and I still do NOT have my deposit back. Now I must fight to get my money back from this company! UGH!

I have never had to use a "professional" contractor until now, always had close friends and family help with work around the house. First time was definitely not a charm, and if you want professional grade work please do NOT use Big Bear Contracting. If you want to spend days cleaning up cigarette butts (I lost count after 15) inside and outside your home then this is the lazy and unprofessional company to use.. i won't even use the term contractor, because these two are far from it. I had to have a furnace person come clean out my duct work because they used a saw inside my master bedroom to cut trim and baseboard instead of the garage downstairs, i'm guessing because it was too hard to go up and down the steps, the furnace sucked in the saw dust and in turn continued to cycle it throughout the house. Extreme poor measurement and miter work, half the time I wondered if they even measured. I went through multiple tubes of caulking to tidy things up. They left a lot of work unfinished and had to pay a professional to come in and fix and finish everything. I also had to clean up a can of exploded spray foam that was all over my driveway that apparently was some of the garbage that fell out of his truck and run over, still not able to get the stain off despite days of scraping, and several different chemicals. I'll attach some photos for your viewing, keep in mind, these are only a select few. Their price was reasonable. But this is a perfect case of, you get what you pay for. I did ask for some reimbursement for the inconvenience and to help pay the professional contractor to fix things, but was denied. Could potentially take to the magistrate, but realistically just not worth the headache.
