Just had my 48 AMP EV charger install done by AJ at Big Red Electric Company — a small, licensed, and bonded shop that also handles permits. He did an amazing job! I forgot to take photos, but I genuinely love supporting small businesses over the big guys.
AJ was one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people I've met — and he really knows his stuff. The price was great, and he even added an extra 110V circuit in my garage so I could put my outdoor fridge on its own breaker.
What really impressed me was his attention to detail and integrity. He ran a 60 AMP circuit for the charger, and when he saw the manufacturer recommended using a junction box for heat dissipation, he didn’t cut corners. He actually paused the job, told me he didn’t have the part, went out to get it, and came back to finish — even though it meant working until nearly 9:30 PM. That level of dedication is rare!
We’re now just waiting on the final inspection for the permit. Honestly, I don’t know many contractors who would stop mid-job just to follow a manufacturer’s best practice — most would just shrug it off and say “it’s fine.” That’s what made me say: WOW.

07/29/2025 Update – County Permit Phase
It took the county several weeks to approve the permit. During that time, AJ kept me updated every week and worked closely with the county to address the revisions they requested to the plans. He took the time to make the necessary changes and promptly resubmitted everything.
Fast forward to inspection day—AJ kept me informed about the inspection window, showed up early to ensure everything was ready, and was very professional with the inspector.
Bottom line – If you value honesty, clear communication, integrity, and solid workmanship, this is the company to trust for your residential EV charger installation and other electrical needs.
