In October 2009 my wife hired Bill Grasso to replace our roof due to hail damage. She selected him based on a recommendation from a friend of hers who used Grasso's services for properties that he flipped. In part he was also selected because the quote he gave included a 5 year warranty on labor. To date I've had 5 sections of shingles come off my roof. Whenever we able reach Grasso, he'd always make promises or express surprise that his team had failed to show up and do the job he claimed he asked them to do for us. Grasso would also claim to never have gotten voice mail messages left for him, and then would claim he assumed the job was done since he had not heard back from us. Because we couldn't get Grasso to live up to the warranty on labor he gave us, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in March 2010. In April 2010 the BBB advised me that they had made several attempts to contact Grasso regarding our complaint, but regretted to inform us that they had not received a response from him. I was finally able to track down where Grasso lived and paid him a visit. He got someone out to fix the problem fairly quickly the first time I had a section of shingles come down, but subsequent times I tried to reach him I'd either get either his voice mail or if he answered, he'd claim that he thought the problem had been taken care of. Only by keeping after him were we able to gwt Grasso to get someone out to fix where other sections of the shingles had come down off the roof. The most recent time I had a section of shingles come down (03/24/12), I called the number of the guy (James) he sent out to fix the problem the last time instead of contacting Grasso. The guy on the other end of the phone claimed his name wasn't James, but not long after speaking with him another guy named Michael called me back. Michael said he was Grasso's foreman. I told him what the problem was and that Grasso had given us a 5 year warranty on labor and that I expected him to honor it. Michael indicated to me that Grasso only gave 1 year warranties on labor. Michael also said he'd be talking with Gasso the following day and would talk with him about another section of shingles coming down off my roof. Michael indicated that he could come out to fix the problem, but that I'd have to pay him to do the repair and that I would have to get with Grasso to work out being reimbursed. I haven't heard anything back from Grasso since Michael told me he'd be talking with him. The quality of the work performed by Grasso has been deplorable. I would not recommend him to anyone who needs their roof repaired.
