    Retaining walls and stairways
    $39,000

I regret that I ever allowed Bill Gumaer onto my property. He is unprofessional, incapable, and completely untrustworthy. I agreed for him to build me 4 walls and 2 stairways for $39 taking 2 weeks. After 5 weeks of complete chaos, he managed to build one wall, took over $20k and quit without ANY warning. DO NOT hire this crook!

Bill gave us a very reasonable price for our project, performed the job as described and finished ahead of time. Very nice hard working folks, I would hire them again if needed. Excellent work.

    $15,000

Bill Gumaer Construction is an unprofessional contractor who has attempted projects beyond his scope of knowledge. I contacted in him late June 2018 about a stair way up to a 2nd floor deck he constructed last season. The steps were irregular and odd in size making traversing the stairs unsafe. Upon discussion with Bill he agreed to repair the stairs and charge me for materials. The following day he tore down the stairs, I believe to hide the imperfect job, and as of August 31, 2018 he has yet to return to repair the stairs, and has asked me to take him to court. I have pictures of the irregular stairs and plan on taking him to small claims court, but I want to warn anyone in the Northwest part of Idaho and the surrounding areas, if your project takes any calculating or engineering specifications, I suggest you go elsewhere, but if you are digging a cesspool, he is the man because anyone can shovel crap!

The only reason he gets one star is there is no zero option. We hired him in late April 2018 to fix a water intrusion problem in our basement. This required excavating the front of our foundation, cleaning the concrete, fixing any cracks, and then sealing it with a water proof material. A footing drain was to be installed that would pump out to an existing French drain or trenched out away from the house. During the excavation he managed to dig up a sprinkler line and underground electrical wire we had told him about. He also destroyed the front concrete walkway and yard. One day while we were gone he mostly backfilled the foundation without installing the footing pump. Large piles of debris were left on the front yard and driveway. After working several days over the next week or two he quit coming and has not returned any of our calls.

We hired a different contractor to re-excavate and do the job properly. It was discovered Gumaer had not completely sealed the foundation. The footing drain ended about half way across the front of the house. The gutter down spouts had been directed to small dry wells installed within 13 feet of the house. One was tested and did not drain. No wonder he back filled before we could inspect the work.

We paid him half down to get the job started. I feel totally ripped off.
