I contacted Billy's Heat and Air via Gree's contractor referral on their site. When i called he mentioned that he no longer installs Gree systems but would be happy to come out for $75 to see what the issue was - no mention to whether this would be applied to the final invoice, it parts were approved.
The result was a bad board within the indoor unit that he quoted at $220 installed, for which I gave him the ok to order.
I didn't hear from him for several days so I inquired on the status. No response.
I did my own research and found the part for about $100 less than quoted and decided to order myself (as I'd just replaced a board on another unit on our property, from another mfr that the part was covered under warranty).
I messaged Billy to let him know I'd be installing the part myself, and the reply with a Thumbs Up emoji.
Overall, a nice guy but not the most responsive and it seems like, in the end, he was just up for the easy $75 fee and not gaining another customer.
Would I recommend ? NO.
