I own a small business underneath an area where Kevin Binder's company is installing a salon. For the past 2 weeks we've tolerated heavy metal music, loud slams and hollaring, and worst of all an amazing amount of dust raining down on all of our computers and sensitive drone equipment. Every morning i clean the areas affected again. Yesterday someone dropped a powertool onto a ceiling tile immediatly above my head, which thankfully did not fall thru all the way, but again made an amazing amount of dust fall onto me and my desk. When the worker came down, i begged him to please put down plastic or something to keep it from continuing to happen. He told me they were done and there would be no more dust.
When i got to work today my desk was covered in dust like never before. as i sit here typing this email i'm still listening to loud heavy metal music, powertools and yes, dust is still falling on my keyboard as i type. I went upstairs, walked into the workspace and hollered hello several times. no answer. I entered further and found two workers hiding around the corner pretending they couldn't hear me. I told them to stop all work that could cause dust to fall down until they could put down a tarp or plastic. then i met Kevin outside, who absolutely SCREAMED at me when i told him about the issues. in a YELLING voice he told me that he took no responsibility for any damage to my equipment and that it was my responsibility to put plastic in his work area if i dont want any dust on my equipment.
I haven't been treated like that since high school.
A moment ago a human foot broke thru the ceiling and kicked a broken ceiling tile along with a huge amount of dust into our work area, raining down on our operating 3d printer station.
I dont mind the music, noises, and damages that i clean up every single day i get to work, but i DO mind being yelled at by someone who is at fault. I don't care what kind of day you're having, there's no excuse to treat another human like this. If you care about your neighbors, stay far away from Binder Building
