    The home built is a lovely home which is why I won't leave a 1 star review. That being said if you choose this builder expect to have zero communication, incorrect items placed in your home, fees to remove incorrect items, promised services (such as simply cleaning the home before you occupy) to not be completed, vendors that have zero selection available (because the builder didn't set up options), multiple delays, endless excuses, etc. Avoid using the builder, period.

    I recently purchased a Birchwood home, and my Star-rating is based on our overall experience. It is broken into the pros and cons to better document.

    Pros:
    -Mr. Biter’s flexibility to meet our upgrade expectations were wonderful. We paid up-front for all upgrades, and they were completed as contracted.
    -Mr. Biter’s counter-offer provided us with a fenced yard. As other builders in our subdivision refused any potential buyers’ counters with a fenced yard, I feel that Birchwood broke from the norm, and I find that a welcoming change.
    -Our home is beautiful! I have absolutely no complaints with any of it. From the flooring, to the paint, to the insulation that blocks out most outside disturbances, this Birchwood home is flawless in many ways.
    -Every selection we made was installed. I have first-hand experience with other builders laying the wrong flooring or the wrong brick, installing the wrong carpet or even siding. None of this occurred with our Birchwood home, and I am pleased with that.

    Cons:
    -Mr. Biter has an atrocious lack of communication. Our home was delayed, and updates that were given were few and scarce.
    -Our Home Warranty has been, and continues to be, completely disregarded. We have had multiple issues arise over the last couple of months. Sub-contractors fail to return phone calls or arrive when they say they will, they fail to complete the jobs they assured would be completed, and anytime I reach out to Mr. Biter regarding an issue, my emails are ignored. Several repairs were completed by my HUSBAND, and not the sub-contractors as they were supposed to have been done.
    -The sub-contractors hired by Mr. Biter show an immense lack of professionalism and punctuality. I did not blame Mr. Biter for the 3-month delay on our house due to sub-contractor errors; however, my opinion has since changed. Reason being, they are hired by Mr. Biter, and he, more than anyone, is aware of their faults.
    -Regarding the 3-month delay I have previously mentioned. July 1, 2020, we were due to close on our Birchwood home. My children and I arrived the middle of June in preparation. However, weeks passed, and then months. A severe lack of communication kept us in Clarksville and living in a hotel when we could have returned to a family’s home not far away and stayed until the house was ready. When pressed about a closing date, we were given the assurance the house would be completed and ready by a specific date, only for that date to come and go with no new update. Our realtor did Amendment after Amendment to our Purchase and Sale agreement, pushing our closing date time and time again. $9000 later, we were granted “early occupancy” that saw us in our house 2 days before closing. Not 2 weeks, but 2 days. Granted, I am appreciative that we did not have to remain and pay for a hotel for those 2 days, it hardly made up for the 3 months and $9000 we spent. This is my biggest complaint. We spent $317,000 on a house, and we watched our savings account get wiped out by no fault of our own. There was no reimbursement, no compassion, and no consideration.
    -Again, I will say that we spent $317,000 on a Birchwood home. Spending that much, I expected there to be better. Better…everything.
    -Our sod is dead. We moved in to dead sod. Instead of coordinating to have the sod laid closer to closing, they laid it, instead, with still 2 months left of the delay. Also, because there was an issue with our faucet (please note that the sub-contractor has since resolved this issue), they were unable to water it and maintain it for us. As a result, we were left with dead sod. We can do nothing to bring it back at this point without spending an obscene amount of money to do so.

    I love my Birchwood home, I do. I waited a long time for it. Would I purchase another Birchwood home? No I would not, and neither would I recommend it to anyone else.
