I am very happy with the finished project. BJ Clark has a pleasant demeanor and is a conscientious worker. He did the job right to our specifications. He had all the necessary tools to do the job expertly. I am quite pleased with the finished project. I definitely would recommend him.

I would like to change my first review. I cannot recommend BJ Clark Co.  I hired Mark in 2017 and relied on him as a licensed and insured contractor to follow building codes. He stated that I "did not need to pull permits because he wasn't demolishing the deck frame." After he "finished" his work on my house, I started noticing multiple problems: 3 inch gaps behind my bedroom and closet doors, loose baseboards only glued on, doors not level or properly shimmed, sloppy mudding and painting, prominent seams showing.  Mark admitted he did not know how to mud but he stated he would "fix it". He came back sporadically over 6-7 months to "fix what was wrong" but never completed anything. The Auburn Code Enforcement officer became involved when he saw risers on the outside of the deck leading to the street that varied in height and were dangerous. Code Enforcement met with Mark and went over what was to be corrected. Mark stated he would fix the deck to code but refused to complete any inside work. He started work on the deck and steps after months of back and forth requests and excuses. In March 2019, he abandoned the job leaving me with an unfinished deck, no fronts steps, unsafe railings and unfinished inside work.

Mark and his crew were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to ask for a quote from BJ Clark Co in the future.

I have been a licensed General Contractor in seven States for over 30 years. I have used Mark from BJ Clark Co. for several small to mid sized jobs and found him to be reliable, honest, fairly priced and the work of good quality. If the work is outside his capability or expertise, he has informed me at once which I find to be a good trait in a handyman. If there were delays or overruns, he has also kept me informed. Most of all, he showed up on time to do the work as promised. You cannot ask for more. I highly recommend this contractor.
