    Carpet removal and installation - they are Lowes contractors
    $2,300

    BJM Installation, Reno (Corporate Headquartered in Petaluma California) installed carpet that I purchased at Lowes for my Lake Tahoe Townhouse in May 2022. Two men did the top-notch job, Bill Jordan (62) and his partner Mikey. Solid muscle, Bill has been laying carpet for over 40 years and is the epitome of true, no-nonsense lead craftsman who takes great pride in his work. I couldn't believe that these two guys could remove existing carpeting/pad and lay 500 sq ft of new pad and carpet including living-room furniture moving and replacement in about 6 hours and have it look flawless. I would use this team again in a breath.

    They were supposed to lay my carpet on 4 September 2021 between 8 & 9 am. They never showed. Even after trying to contact them 4 times and told by their answering service that they would soon call me, I never received a phone call. I have never had such bad service.

    DO NOT PURCHASE CARPET INSTALLATION FROM LOWES

    I purchased carpet & installation from Lowes on 5/1/21. BJM Installation Services was subcontracted to install.

    It has been nothing short of a nightmare.

    In June, BJM Installation Services messed up the install and only completed half the job. No problem, mistakes happen, I'm a reasonable person. BJM Re-ordered carpet and scheduled me for 8/9 @ 8-10AM.

    INSTALLATION DAY ONE
    8/9 @10AM, BJM: "Sorry the installer is running late from his last job. He'll be there before noon."
    8/9 @ 12PM, BJM: "The installer is still running late, he needs to finish his last job. He'll be there from 1-5PM."
    8/9 @ 5PM, BJM: "So sorry, he'll be there 8/11 from 8 - 10AM."

    INSTALLATION DAY TWO
    8/11 @ 10AM, BJM: No call, no show.
    8/11 @ 4:45PM, BJM: "SO SORRY. He'll be there tomorrow, I promise!"

    INSTALLATION DAY THREE
    8/12 @ 5PM, BJM: No call, no show. I waited and tried calling them the ENTIRE day. They have some "virtual receptionist" service kick in around noon where they can just ignore calls and have a third-party relay messages. I'm calling Lowes Installation Support and they can't even get ahold of them.

    8/16: I leave another message for BJM, no response.
    8/17: I leave another message for BJM, no response. I call Lowes to escalate the issue. Lowes gets ahold of BJM and says that someone from BJM will reach out to me.
    SPOILER ALERT: They don't.
    8/18: I leave another message for BJM, no response. I call Lowes again to escalate, and they basically tell me they can't do anything.

    8/19: I get ahold of "Miriam" at BJM. I tell her that I'm extremely frustrated, and I have done nothing wrong. I have my first child due next week. She puts me on hold for a while when the manager, "Hazel" tells me that I'll have an installer tomorrow from 8 - 10AM.

    INSTALLATION DAY FOUR
    8/20 @ 10AM, BJM: No call, no show. I call Lowes, they tell me that technically my appointment is from 8 - 12PM. I patiently wait.
    8/20@ 12PM, BJM: No call, no show. I call Lowes and they tell me that they can't do anything.

    This company is the absolute worst and Lowes should be ashamed to have BJM Installation Services as their carpet installer. You want to see something funny? Google their website.

    Their website is littered with statements like:

    Very unprofessional and unethical company. Paid for them to apply Kilz on the subfloor before carpet installation in entire house. This was paid for and on the contract, and also discussed with their person on morning of install. Later that day I saw unopened containers of the Kilz. At this point they had already installed carpet pad in 3 rooms. When asked if they put down Kilz was told yes. They were clearly lying. None of the containers were opened and when you put down Kilz it requires hours to ‘cure’ before you can put the pad/carpet down. One I called them out on the lie they did a lot of backpedaling and claimed they misunderstood. Asked to speak to a supervisor and the employees left the project.
