This comany is straight up EVIL, Diane and Marvin are to of the meanest people i have ever dealt with!! Outright bullies, no one deserves to be treated the way i was!! I have used them in my townhome every other year for dryer vent cleaning and chimney inspection, which we all have to have done. Used them 4X and Diane used to be so nice when i made an apptmt with them it took me on average 20 minutes to get the apptmt and get off the phone!! This woman has no off switch! A employee of theirs always came and did a gd job and left.
But this year the owner Marvin came to do the job, was very harsh, not a good personality to deal with people, which is what he does all day. Tells you how its gonna be in your own house! Did the job, then over charged me by $10 from the agreed upon price, ( And i tipped him $20 already as i like to tip my contractors always) Then showed me he took down my outside dryer vent flap and cage that keeps the birds out. Told me it was getting clogged and could cause build up and of lint and needed to replace it the right way, and get this, for $300 and 2 men with two, 32 foot ladders!!!! He told me the $300 was not for the parts but for the danger of two men being up on ladders that high. Um ok don't you do this for a living every day of your life?? Aren't you up on ladders way higher then that at 3 and 4 story townhomes?? Mine is only 2 stories high. I doubt 32 feet is that high, or you need two men cause of the danger!! Seriously!!
I sent proof to my HOA that i had it done and so they could see his comments on the outside area needing to be redone, and they called me immediately. They told me Blackbeard Services is NOT on the approved list of companies to use because they are notorious scam artists and always find something costly to repair. They also told me what i already knew our vents and cages are all uniformed in the community and need to stay that way, if they were clogging or dangerous the community itself would have addressed that issue, they have had zero issues with 102 units ever!!!!! So my HOA winds up getting new parts as Marvin, from Blackbeard ripped mine off stripping the areas where screws could go back in, he also stripped the wood on my building as well, so my HOA repair man had to drill through the new parts in other areas to get it to stay up!!!! Marvin the owner of Blackbeard also lied to me and told me there's was wood rot up there as well and would be very hard to attach a new flap and cage. the gentleman who fixed it, rather quickly might i add, and all by himself on a big, bad ,scary 32 foot ladder, told me he was full of you know what and the wood was perfect, In fact the only damage i had was the damage he caused ripping down my flap and cage leaving huge holes, without my permission!!!
This guy does what he wants and tells you how its gonna be and what he's gonna charge you!! I called Diane, His wife and owner as well and told her i needed him to put back up the parts he removed with out even asking me if that was ok and she immediately turned into a PSYCHO!!! Screaming at me that they have over 15,000 customers and he does what needs to be done and people don't like hearing they have to spend money, etc. I mean screaming over me to a point i cant get a word in edge wise. I didn't start off mean or demanding, i never even raised my voice at her. She told me after screaming at me for a few minutes she had to go and hung up on me. Then called back after speaking to Marvin and told me what he said again, which was the same thing and then again i tried to tell her all townhomes everything has to look the same so even if i wanted him to redo it for $300 dollars!!!! my HOA wouldn't allow it, and she called me CHEAP!!! I don't want to spend $300 after just paying them $120, esp when i wasn't asked if he could rip holes in the outside of my home to create more damage for him to fix!!!! She screamed some more at me and told me she was done talking to me and hung up again!!! This woman needs serious professional mental help, medication to!!!! I actually worry about people that angry and defensive, clearly your company isn that great or you wouldn't have had to defend yourself and tell me you had 15,000 customers! When in business the customer is always right and you just fix what in this case you purposely broke and make the customer happy!!!! Then you don't get yet another 1 star review!! If you'll notice almost all their reviews are 1 star, i never looked them up, wish i had, never would have used them. Every other dryer vent company in my area was 4 and 1/2 and 5 stars. So literally people go with any other company and you'll be ok. Clearly we have the bad seed right here!! Black beard and its 2 owners and unprofessional lunatics, life is hard enough, do any of us really need to deal with people like them???? NO WE DONT!
My dryer vent is already repaired for $67 by one guy, who ran up and down the 32 foot ladder several times and didn't even cry or get scared!! -

I would NEVER recommend using TGIF company to anyone ! I am NOT surprised that they have such little stars ! They claim to be a family business and all about their customers , but they are NOT !!!! I live in a townhouse and the association requires for safety reasons our dryer vents get cleaned once a year . This company is 1 out 3 that the association mails out to residents ! I had scheduled my appointment with them last week , thus week I became VERY ill and needed to change my appointment ! Diane one the phone of one of the MOST NASTY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL person I have ever dealt with The pride themselves on being a family business and caring about their customers , NOT TRUE !!! She gave us such a difficult time about trying to reschedule , even with 24 hours notice ! She gave us the run around , and wanted to charge us an additional $65 dollars if we rescheduled ! OUTRAGEOUS !!! She claimed it would take up to much of her time to try and fill up the spot and might be up until 8 pm trying to so !! Well , isn’t that part of her job and what she is getting paid to do?? One does not know when they may become ill , and she had NO regards for our need to reschedule! Her only priority was filling the time slot ! Rest assure , I will be notifying the head of the association and other board members ti REMOVE this company from their list , NOT to allow residents to get involved with such an unprofessional company !! Also , I never knew prices could just change ! She must have changed the price at least 3 x during our conversations , and then wanted to increase the price by $65 if we rescheduled! Do yourself a favor , use a different company , a company that has a more understanding professional staff then Diane !! I have read other reviews and it seems most have had issues with Diane , I am assuming she is the owner because no business that I know of would keep an employer like her on staff and BRING DOWN THEIR BUSINESS . I have also read some feedback from her towards customers that have posted negative reviews !! Any GOOD business person knows , you are not suppose to argue with a review , perhaps use the review to better yourself and the business !!! She seems very good at blaming the customer or Angie’s list and taking NO ownership of the dissatisfied customers !! STAY AWAY !!

What an awesome contractor! I know they service almost everyone in our community. I read the other reviews and it sounds like one of their competitors spreading bad rumors. I would say they are one of the most reliable and professional contractors I have ever hired. I also found that they have an "A" on Angies list. These review sites take such a small sample how can you trust them.... NOT

I would not recommend this company. They are rude and unprofessional. The owner is a con artist and will charge different people different prices for the same job. There were numerous complaints after he serviced our townhouse community.

I have used this company several times over the past few years but will no longer use their services nor recommend them to anyone. They seem to have become too successful and have forgotten their manners and what got them to where they are today. Their service people are rude and arrogant. If you call to reschedule or complain, Dianne will yell at you and hang up the phone on you mid sentence. I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere.

While the technician did a good job, was considerate and polite, the receptionist, when I contacted the company few months later was arrogant, rude and impolite, big disappointment and a spot on the company reputation.
This is absolutely the worse company I have ever dealt with! I would give them zero stars if it was available. Marvin have no sense of business or customer service. They have an F on Better Business Bureau! That should explain it all right there, which I wish I had checked before using them. Instead of fixing my problem THAT HE CREATED with my dryer, he rather argue with the customer. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to my worse enemy.
If you are looking for a dryer/chimney cleaning services, DO NO USE BLACKBEARD SERVICES! You will regret it!
