I hired Mike Leggett of Blackmountain Lansdscape Development to do work at my home. I had a similar experience as Lulu M.'s review. I paid him for the entire job. He completed about half the work. He made excuses for not being able to complete the remaining work and he ceased communication with me. Additionally, he failed to pay the material company that he bought the material for my project from. That company placed a lien on my home and would pursue a lawsuit if the amount was not paid. Mike would not pay it so I paid it to clean the lien. I do not recommend this company.

Don't fall for Mike Leggets lies. Our project was small. He was very prompt to collect the initial money agreed upon for buying materials. Prior to handing over the money, the agreement was that he would start on the same day. After getting the money he said he said it would take a few days for him to start. At this point I should've just taken my money back, but I didn't.
He came a few days later without any materials as promised, walked around the backyard doing measurements then left. Took him days to come back after us sending several texts/calls and him giving us multiple excuses from him having other bigger projects that he had to work on to him not working in the rain (a drizzle that lasted for 5 minutes).
Well, when he came back, he worked on demo and reconstruction with our existing materials...this was in the contract. But, he just put the rocks and wood on top of each other where they were supposed to be...did not reinforce them, probably was to be done later.
This was maybe a little less than a quarter of the total work he was supposed to do. He never showed up again. He had another slew of excuses, threw out his back, will come next week, never showed up, all fake. He finally accepted and apologized that he couldn't finish the job and we agreed that he would return some of the money...never happened, been waiting and waiting...nothing but excuses and now he's decided to stop responding to my texts. I believe it's all been lies, I don't think he intends to return any money.
Communication with Mike started on Feb 21st 2022, according to the contract project was to be completed by end of March. Today is Jun 2nd...still waiting. Everyone works hard for their money, then some people just come and skip away with it, with no care in the world.
Mike, I have all the communication to prove this. I had to print it out for claiming it, so you can't say I'm lying like you said about Yvonne's review.

Mike Leggett is a dishonest man! My family experienced much of the same behaviors as Lulu M. We hired Mike in the fall of 2021. He started out asking for a large sum up front. He came with his helper Lee and between them they did the least amount of work possible. Soon he came back asking for more money in order to purchase the necessary building materials. He started to show up less and less. Claiming that it was the block company causing the delays not him. He didn’t show up for 2 months, his texts and emails were filled with excuses, if he bothers to respond at all. After 2 months he asked if he could come back and complete the job we told him we had lost faith in him and would like our money back. We never heard back from him after that. We recently found a multitude of similar complaints about him online. He has a pattern. He is a smooth talker, he will promise you the world while stealing your savings. He took nearly 14 K from a family of 6.
We saved for years to build the backyard of our dreams for our 4 boys, he looked my 4 year old autistic son in the eyes and promised him grass and a safe yard to play in. He lies. Don’t do business with Mike Legget or Black Mountain Landscape Develpoment. A trail of carnage follows him!
