I hired Trevor Blaesing to replace my septic tank. The tank replacement turned into a year-long nightmare with Trevor Blaesing lying to me multiple times, ignoring me, and ultimately stealing money from me (he still owes me $1,750).
July 29th, 2020: I sent Blaesing Excavation a check for $3250. Trevor Blaesing received the check and cashed it.
September 1st, 2020: Here’s where the lies begin. I took the day off on September 1st to be available while Trevor Blaesing installed my new septic tank. At 10:41 am I texted Trevor Blaesing to find out when he was stopping by. The first lie is him blaming the pumping guy for changing the time on him. Trevor Blaesing is implying here that he has my new septic tank and is all ready to go, but can’t because of the pumping guy. Trevor Blaesing will later text me in March 2021 and note that he never bought me a tank.
I expected to hear back from Blaesing Excavation that same day, but instead, Trevor Blaesing starts ignoring me.
September 22nd, 2020: At this point, it’s been three weeks and I’ve heard absolutely nothing from Blaesing Excavation since the day Trevor Blaesing bailed on my septic install. Around this time, there were lots of forest fires in Oregon, and I knew that Trevor Blaesing lived near Mt. Hood and was potentially dealing with issues related to the fires. I sent him a text to check in on my project but also let him know that I was sensitive to issues he and his family might be dealing with. He did not reply.
October 15th, 2020: Switching up my tactics, I tried calling Blaesing Excavation instead of texting. Trevor Blaesing FINALLY texted me back on October 15th. He noted that he “should be install your tank next week for sure”. This was another lie. He did not show up. Once again, I took the day off to be at home for the septic install, and once again Blaesing Excavation lied to me and didn’t show up.
November 23rd, 2020: I was able to get a hold of Blaesing Excavation by phone and Trevor Blaesing told me he could install my tank on either November 24th or 25th. This was another lie. Trevor Blaesing never responded to my texts and Blaesing Excavation did not do the install.
January 29th, 2021: I sent a text to Blaesing Excavation on January 29th, 2021. At the same time I asked a business acquaintance to give Trevor Blaesing a call. She was a friend of Trevor’s family and knew him since he was a kid. She got a little tough with him, resulting in him calling and leaving me a voicemail on January 31st. In the voicemail, Trevor Blaesing apologized for “poor communication” and said “I am a man of my word and will get this tank in in the next two weeks”. Unfortunately, Trevor Blaesing is NOT a man of his word and didn’t end up installing the tank in the next few weeks. Instead, he ignored me for almost two months. Please note here that on January 31st Trevor Blaesing promised to install my septic tank at a time when there was snow on the ground, implying that snow is not a problem for septic tank installation. He will later lie and claim that he couldn’t install my tank because of snow.
March 25th, 2021: Apparently you have to threaten Trevor Blaesing to get him to respond to you. I mentioned “legal action” in a text and he replied almost immediately. He said he would refund my $3250 in two payments of $1500 and $1750
March 26th, 2021: Trevor Blaesing sent me a check for $1500 and I was actually able to cash it.
April 27th, 2021: Trevor Blessing did not send a second check on April 8th, as he promised. Instead, he chose to ignore me for a month. I had to threaten him with a BBB complaint to get him to reply to me.
April 28th, 2021: Trevor Blaesing says he will send me the final repayment check on May 5th. Of course, he doesn’t follow through.
May 5th, 2021: I sent Blaesing Excavation a final text, reminding him that he promised to refund the remainder of what he owes me that day. Trevor Blaesing never bothered to reply and I haven’t heard anything from him since. To this day, Blaesing Excavation still owes me $1750.
