My family and I relocated to Boulder in January of '22. Shortly after moving into our newly built home we began encountering various issues throughout the house. Despite raising these concerns, the builder we worked with consistently provided excuses and downplayed the severity of the problems, even when our roof started leaking. Unfortunately, the leaking issue persists to this day.
During our first annual HOA meeting last week, I decided to address these ongoing issues that have caused significant trouble for us. To my surprise, many individuals in the room shared similar negative experiences with the same builder. In fact, the family hosting the HOA meeting mentioned that during their open house, the builder showed up and actively discouraged potential buyers from purchasing their home, directing them to consider his own properties instead.
This revelation has been absolutely shocking to me, as I never anticipated such an experience in Boulder.
We are in need of assistance and guidance. What actions can we take in response to this situation? We are currently hiring external contractors to address the issues we face, while Bob is constructing two additional homes in our neighborhood. How can we prevent this individual from causing similar harm to others?
Members of the Boulder community have assured my family and me that such behavior is not acceptable and that Boulder County will not tolerate it. We remain hopeful that appropriate measures can be taken in this case.
