We have been in the process of an attempt at purchasing our first home through an FHA 203K loan where we purchase the home with plans to have construction, remodeling and/or renovations done. We contacted Mr. Boblett at the end of March, 2013 and had him come to look at the property, to give us an estimate and to talk to him about the project. Mr. Boblett gave us a preliminary estimate and told us things such as "I think you guys will be great to work with", "I am familiar with this type of home loan" and "I will be able to start as soon as you close on the house". We, our realtors, our loan officer and the sellers did everything in our power to close on the home. All that was needed was for Mr. Boblett to finish filling out the FHA/HUD portion of the documents for us to submit and close on the home loan. Mr. Boblett delayed this process; often not answering his phone or returning calls for over a week, making up excuses such as I can't come meet you because my truck is broken down and now at closing by telling us I won't be able to do the work. On the day we had scheduled to meet and close on the home (after he had already canceled twice) Mr. Boblett called and gave no explanation as to why but told us that he wouldn't be at the meeting and couldn't do the job. Had Donald Boblett told us this in March then we could have found another contractor, closed on our home and be close to completion of the 70,000 dollar project. Sadly we are left in a worse position then we could have imagined as we are now facing our contract running out on the home and the possibility of losing the home altogether if there is someone waiting in the wings to scoop up the property before we can get another contract on the home. I gave this contractor a 1 out of 5 stars due to his complete disregard for customers and his total lack of professionalism.
