The views expressed here are based on my individual experience with this contractor and are not intended to suggest future or past performance.
I worked with this contractor service because I needed a GC but was looking for one with hands involvement in my largest trade line and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The first flag was when the contractor tried to cash a $13,500 deposit only check before work ever started. Subsequently, the contractor was seldomly on the job site property and did not supervise his crew. The contractor was very condescending, disrespectful, and rude. He refused to speak with me as if I weren't his boss - the homeowner; resorting to text and email instead. He repeatedly ignored specific performance demand letters in direct violation of Illinois state law and highjacked my entire project by starting trades out of order with no permits.
He bid as part of a 203k limited loan and started the work two weeks after trying to cash the check and beginning painting. He then stated there wasn't enough money and that he was not making one penny off the job. He acted as though I was not paying him. He tore up all my floors in the kitchen, foyer, and basement which committed me right away, but he did the work poorly. He stated that he had to tear up the whole kitchen floor so he could level it
He never produced permits but claimed filled the paperwork out, but upon checking with the village there was no such thing. He removed wallpaper throughout the property but performed such an awful job of sanding and priming the old drywall. I even called Sherwin Williams and they sent a supervisor to the property who confirmed that the walls were not properly prepared. His worker even dared to plug up appliances for their use and store their food in cabinets as well.
Ultimately, the relationship deteriorated because the contractor wanted to charge a 30% GC fee on top of his trade line Mark up. When questioned about the workers he became agitated and defensive but seemed to forget he was spending my money. He alluded to me being inconsiderate because he is working for free and that he is doing us a favor. He acted like everything I asked was an inconvenience. When presented with a work schedule he called it bullying him.
Our relationship got so bad that the lender attempted to mediate but ultimately said you hired him you have to deal with it. We parted ways at a cost, and me holding an incomplete project.

We used Bomar Painting and Decorating for a full basement renovation project. This included a full bathroom, living area and laundry room. Mark provided an itemized estimate and stayed true to that estimate throughout the project. He was flexible in working with me as I selected the materials and had questions about the project. The team showed up on time each day and had strong communication skills. Excellent workmanship, great communication, completed on-time and on-budget.

I worked with this contracting service and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The contractor was never at my property and nothing turned out right except for my deck. the contractor was utterly disrespectful and rude. he spoke to me & my fiancé' as if we were bums off the street. this man called us ingrates and if went as far as telling me that my mother was threatening him and his men which was such a joke. He bid the job and started the work then half way through completion stated that we owed him more money and that he was not making one penny off the job. He acted as though we were not paying him. He tore up all my floors in the kitchen without out my consent which forced me to get another floor right away. he stated that he had to tear up the whole kitchen floor so he could level my dining room floor. It took him two weeks to get a permit for my deck because he filled the paperwork incorrectly. He then proceeded to lie and say that the village would not approve the deck that we wanted. we then called the village where they stated that there was no problem. He broke down the wall in my kitchen and did an awful job of sanding the walls. his worker even had the audacity to say why don't you just do it. After we told the worker that it was his job. Mark called us screaming and saying that he we are inconsiderate because he is working for free and that he is doing us a favor. we had 2000.00 for lead based paint removal all he did was paint over it and not even peel the paint. We got the boiler installed in our basement and then 2 weeks later it started leaking. He acted like everything we asked was an inconvenience. Our relationship got so bad that we had our realtor mediate for us. My realtor witness first hand how absolutely unprofessional he was. the work started in September and did not get completed until Dec. all we had done was a deck, roof, one wall tear down boiler, lead based paint. on our bid there was instillation of outlets and lights that was never done by him. at that point we just wanted to pay him and get him out of our lives. they moved our stove and when I walked in my kitchen smelled like gas then i noticed they had not capped my gas line correctly. He even told us not to talk bad about him in front of his workers. He even complained that the check was taking to long when we submitted the information to the bank. If there was an option to give him no stars then that is what i would leave him. I was caused so much grief. we are first time home buyers and now it is hard for us to trust anyone who works on our home because of him and his company. He told us that we were the worst customers he has ever dealt with and that he wishes he would have never taken the job. Well we feel the same exact way. I would never recommend this man.

Stay away what we thought would be our dream home turned out to be issue after issue. My home was totally gutted when mark took this job blank slate with tons of potential till this day I discover something attributed to his lack experience. All of my window ledges need replacing after spending over 200k to build out our interior home.
