Do not hire Philip Weaver DBA Boss Co SATX! We hired Philip Weaver off of a recommendation of a neighbor who had hired him to do some work on her apartment in San Antonio. As soon as her project in San Antonio was finished he was going to be completing a complete renovation on her house in Austin so we trusted that since he would be working close by that he would want to do a good job on our house. (Since seeing what we've gone through, she realized that she was being scammed)
Unfortunately for us, we did not do the proper vetting on this contractor since he came so highly recommended. He told us that he was licensed and insured. According to the city of San Antonio, his license is expired.
Our project was small and when we first met with Phil, we had already hired painters and texture, but he assured us that his "team" could take care of all of it. We had a non-load wall to remove, remove old orange peel texture and knockdown the entire house and ceiling, and fix sagging ceiling in the kitchen. I met with Phil on 1/15 at our house in Austin to discuss plans and what would need to be done. He sold himself by telling me that he had a background in oil and gas but his boss paid for him to go to school for architecture and manage construction sites for him.
Our biggest concern was time constraints because we have two small children and would have to pay for the time we are out of our house. He assured us that he would start work on 2/3 and finish by 2/24 so that we could have our floor installed. After we had already moved out, he delayed the project day by day until 2/8 when he let us know that they wouldn’t be starting until the following Thursday but assured us that his team is a “well-oiled” machine and they would still finish on time without a problem. Had he communicated with us sooner, we could have delayed our move out. We paid Phil Weaver (he requested checks be written to him directly, not Boss-Co SATX) $3833.49 on 2/13 to begin the project.
We minimally saw Phil on the project and soon learned that he had contracted the job to Joe with Alamo City Remodeling. There was never a “well-oiled machine”, but rather different day laborers that Phil picked up on the side of the road. (One of them actually had a drug dealer show up to the house to sell him marijuana that we caught him smoking on the job).
The wall and ceiling repair were eventually finished (despite very messy). Our bathroom floors were not protected, there was texture sprayed in all of our vents and in the kitchen cabinets that were supposed to be painted.
Joe (and sometimes Phil) would work all hours of the night only to disappear the next day or two without response to calls or text messages.
Finally, on 2/23 after disappearing Friday and Saturday and after reassuring over and over that the texture would be complete in order for our floor company to come in, we delayed the floors until Wednesday 2/25. Phil, Joe and a crew of 2 others worked almost 48 hours straight with the heat on in the house at 90 degrees in order to quickly dry the mud and texture.
Even though he assured us that not a drop of paint or primer would go on the walls until we approved, he sprayed primer over the wet texture on Tuesday 2/24. (He also sprayed primer on our kitchen cabinets that had not been fully sanded and were not ready for paint).
My husband then received a text message from him at 11:00pm at night demanding to be paid his next draw because he had finished the texture and primer (even though the initial invoice said the second draw would be after paint and texture, he had gone an adjust the invoice….I do have a paper copy of the initial invoice). My husband was out of town but Phil wanted me to go over while the kids were asleep and bring him a check.
The following day I arrived at the house to find texture compound bubbling, cracking and peeling throughout the house. He's since disappeared and we are requesting a full refund.
It's only gotten worse since and this does not allow enough space to finish the review. Like many others, we will be taking him to court. -

Hired for a kitchen remodel they used shotty material left a huge mess and did not haul off trash and old materials. It also took 3 months to finish a 1 week job as he was never available. We are going to take Phill Weaver to court and get out money back.

Similar to above. Pre paid for completion and he never got the job done. It cost me double tRhe last payment to have someone else finish the job. Claims to be a Christian. Ha! Phil can’t be trusted. Don’t work with him.

By Kelli G.February 1, 2019Granite and a built in bookcase$6,000
Horrible experience. Over paid for shotty work. It's a long story but this man isn't to be trusted. Didn't pay his workers for the job they did at our house and now they're calling us. Paid$6000 for granite that has to be rebuffed/sealed by someone else, a built in bookcase that I'll have to sand and repaint myself. The whole experience was sprinkled with lies and deception. Phil Weaver has complaints against him on the Better Business Bureau website. I wish we would have seen that before we hired him. Very disappointed

By Alex S.July 16, 2018bathroom upgrade from 1/2 to fullRead more
I hired Bossco-SA to expand a 1/2 bath into a full bath. The work went smooth and they were done in about a week. I paid half upfront and the remainder at the completion. They did not texture walls correctly so the owner (Phil) was supposed to send someone to redo them. Requested that I pay in full since he pays his guys on Friday. That was the last time I had contact with Bossco-SA. No one ever came back to retexture the walls. All was well and I already realized that I will have to pay someone else to redo the walls as Bossco-SA never completed the work and were already paid in full. About 6 months later the toilet started leaking from the screws that attach the toilet to the floor (despite the toilet was hardly used and the shower not at all). I called Phil and he advised me to use the toilet plunger to unclog it. Unfortunately each time the plunger was depressed, poopy water came out in the shower through the shower drain (I have not yet sealed the grout as the shower was installed for my mom who passed before the completion of the bathroom remodel). I also snaked the toilet thinking that perhaps there was a clog, but the snake end was clean and the toilet still leaked water all over the floor from the screw area. In addition, when the toilet was flushed, the water spurts out from the screw area, flooding the entire bathroom floor and the brand new $400 cabinet that was put in there (the bottom is already damaged from the water). I send the video to Phil and was told that he will try to get someone to come out that evening. I cancelled my plans but no one showed. Its been Since 6/29/18 and no one has come by to see how this can be fixed and Phil no longer takes my calls and does not answer my texts.
If all that was not enough, the contractors sprayed cement or grout on the side of my car and its still there! They also cleaned their tools/buckets on the side of the house and the entire ground area has been cemented now. My 15-year old son and I have to pound it with hummer to break the cemented area apart and get rid of the pieces.
Be ware that although they may stay within the budget, the workmanship and follow up is not existent. At this time I have to take the company to Court to get repairs done and recoup the costs of the bathroom cabinet damaged by water and/or ask in Court for refund so I can get this fixed by another contractor...
I have videos/pictures to prove the shabby work.

My parents house burnt down and we contracted him to rebuild the house. He claimed it would be finished in 25 days . Paid him $12k for 4 wall structure. Have tried numerous times to contact via cell, txt and email...no response. He comes up with various excuses like the weather, Covid 19, his wife has Chemotherapy was the last time we talked over 4weeks ago.
