  Pool Build

  Signed a contract for a pool build November of 2021. It is now august 31st 2022 and I have had a huge hole in my backyard for 7 months. Shot work was done in April, it’s now almost September and I don’t even have marcite yet. Bart and his sister Jackie give me one excuse after another which are mostly lies. I’m now dealing with trying to find another contractor to finish my pool as Bart is ignoring me now. I’ve had to call the city multiple times as my pool has failed inspections. Avoid BP Builders and Russell Builders at all costs.

  Build a house

  Bart Piniaz, working as BP Builders, Inc., built our home and it was a disaster. So much that we had to demolish the 3rd floor rear deck and remove the 2nd and 3rd floor decks in the front. It turns out he angled the decks incorrectly and flashed incorrectly so after only a few years we had rotten trusses in the front and back of the house. In order to correct we had to take the house back to the framing and we found an inadequate amount of tiedowns and hurricane straps. We also found a piece of framing that was put in place and not even nailed. He never finished our 4th floor deck and we had to come up with new solution for it which encompassed removing part of the metal roof. We found he had not zipped taped the seams on the roof completely. Also, although the permitted plans called for the use of stainless steel or galvanized dipped metal we hardly found any hardware that matched that requirement including on the roof where after a few years it was already starting to rust due to metal on metal and we leave very near the ocean. This is besides all the things that we needed to fix inside the house. As to timing, we signed the contract in September 2016 and handed over our deposit. The permit was obtained in March 2017 and the contract said 9 months to complete but we didn’t get our Certificate of Occupancy till December 2018. The house was still not done at that time but enough that we could move in. He worked for another 4 months on it or should I say he was supposed to be working on it but hardly anyone was ever out so we fired him April 2019. I will never work with Bart Piniaz in any capacity ever again.

  Kitchen Remodel

  $30,000

  Took an entire year to do our remodel which was contracted to only take 16 weeks at max. Mistake after mistake was made - didn't pull permits when necessary; ruined a new above range microwave due to improper installation; left live wires in a bed of sawdust behind dishwasher. The builder inspector shut our project down due to BP Builders and their very poor work. The owner never checked on the project manager's work which was incredibly poor. 10/10 would NOT recommend Joey Perkins or BP Builders.
