Terrible. The project took over 6 months to complete. Half way through the company stop showing up for scheduled visits and eventually stopped answering or returning our calls. This is after having been paid in advance. There work was very poor and I had to personally address issues of sloppy work and lack of workmanship covering various levels of the 3 projects we had going on simultaneously. We were in the process of filing a lawsuit when the sons of Brian Gilmore came by our home and completed the work. To this day, we continually have issues with both bathrooms and the flooring. Here's an excerpt from one of several letters mailed to Gilmore Contracting. We discussed the numerous attempts made by my husband, Ahmad Lawton and myself via phone, email and text to have the issues at our home addressed. We informed you that all these issues were discussed with direct contact to Brian Gilmore. You admitted that these issues were “well” overdue and should have “been” corrected at this point; four months post contract signing. "During the walk through of 45 Twin Brooks Drive, the following items were re-identified to you and your co-worker Robert Gilmore. Several problems were addressed during your visit. 1. Downstairs Bathroom a. Leaking toilet 2. Upstairs Bathroom a. Detached Sink Basin from Counter Top b. Wobbly Unsecured Toilet c. Toilet Bar Screws left in wall d. Loose Ventilation Fan in Ceiling creating loud noise when turned on – ventilation cover was repositioned but noise remains present when fan is turned on e. Towel Bar positioned 5 feet from floor – regulation height is 4 feet f. Paint Repair due to (re)moved towel bar and crack in paint and cork seals 3. Vestibule a. Cracked Marble Floor Boarder on floor entrance to kitchen b. Missing Floor Boards in Closet Including the fact that an inadequate amount of floor putty/sealant was used in our main vestibule walkway causing deep grooves in the floor making it almost impossible to keep clean. They are terrible and wouldn't recommend them to our worst enemy.

Awful experience. We hired Brian Gilmore less than 5 months ago for a new roof. His work was poor and our shingles started to come off ; many fell to the ground. After calling, Brian he said would fix. Over a couple weeks passed and he did not. We were worried with possible snow and rain in forecast so made many more attempts to get a hold of him. He did not answer or return our calls so we had another roofer repair his job. We emailed, and texted Mr. Gilmore stating we did not yet rate/review his job online however maybe he could reimburse the money that we had to pay another roofer for repairs and at least we would feel better about the stress, hassle and extra money spent. Brian then called and said he had truck problems etc. (phone problems?) however, would not refund any money.

I met Brian while getting quotes for a deck remodel. He was honest, fair and we were excited about working with him. While waiting for winter to pass we had a flood in our basement. We asked Brian if he was able to estimate the remodel. He came by immediately and seemed knowledgeable in basement repair. There were a few small issues. It began with the estimate for the insurance company. I chalked this up to him just not being aware of computers and did give him much slack. Finally, we started the job anyway. We were upfront that we were not going to do any of the work due to my husband being ill. We discussed many times that we wanted all the finishing work done as well. Brian's reply was " Of course. That's the only way I work" and assured us this would all be taken care of. Things were going along well until talk of the finishing work began again. When I said I wanted certain black hardware and decorative ceiling tiles the roll of the eyes began. He would tell me that he never heard of black hardware and why would I not just get acoustic tiles. " That's not the way we do it in Abington", was his favorite remark. We explained to him that this was the look we wanted.
As the drywall was going up we started to notice shortcuts. He wanting to deal with issues that arose later. I wanted to handle the problems as they arose.
He wanted to put sheet metal on the wall between the electric box and the ceiling instead of drywall. WHAT!!! Sheet Metal. He wanted to finish the ceiling angle with siding material. I tried to show him a video of how to do it but he was not interested in looking at the professionals.
To cut to the ending. Brian left here one day with 4 doors not completed and a 5th door not even started. The drop ceiling was left unfinished. He said he would be back the following week. It has now been 6 weeks and NO BRIAN. For all these reasons plus many more is why he is receiving a 2 star review.
The good about Brian. He is trustworthy in the house. He may be better at decks than interior work. I feel that he was just in over his head.
