    Roof Replacement

Brian installed a brand new roof on my house. The roof had been botched 2-3 other times. Brian walked me through what was wrong and what he was doing to fix all the issues. He was in constant contact with me throughout the process and always made sure I was informed with what was going on. The roof came out beautiful and brian was awesome to work with. Will definitely be using brian again for other projects.

    retro-fit stair treads and risers
    $500

Brian retro-fitted our stair case w/ oak treads & risers. The stair jacks and walls were less than straight and parallel but Brian did an excellent job. Every step needed custom fitting. He's now on the top of our "go to" list after our first experience working with him. (NB, Soap Lake)

    INSTALL /repair front door| repair Home-garage door

He was very Dishonest and failed to finish a door installation (prehung) He never showed up on time and never called or returned calls. He never had one scrap of lumber with him. The sill under the door jam was was wet and needed to be replaced he had no lumber with him and just installed the door over it! I thought It was just temporary and he would return and replace it. This sill was not treated wood as the code required. The sill board which he reinstalled was a piece of untreated 2 x 4 installed by the previous owner . It stuck out from the Metal Sill by a good 1/2 " the water from the rain and wet sill board instead of draining soaked into this board and then migrated up the exterior trim boards .This will have to be addressed later. At this time, he has not returned my call in over two weeks! That return was just to leave me a voice mail telling me ,I would just have to be patient . This job was reviewed by Brian Schoo before Xmas of 2019. we agreed that the front door needed to be replaced and that their were serious problems with the sill and studs to hang the door on. My entry door from the house to the Garage could be fixed with the replacement of a sideboard that the dead bolt and door latches fit into. He did fix the door so the locks and latch worked. He did not replace the side board as agreed again no material with him . This project commenced on 1/07/2020. and is still on going as of 2/23/2020. He insisted on being paid and said he would no later than the following Wed. It was obvious that he was short on money ,so I agreed. When I asked him for an invoice bill He had forgotten it at home. I Had him write up a temporary on a scratch tablet . He did not include his address and later I found out why .He promised he would provide a detailed bill from his computer when he returned to finish up. He was a no show/no call by the agreed on time, so I called him. It took several calls and finally he showed with a 4' piece of 1/4 round to trim out the inside base of my Front Door. This Piece of lumber which he had told me several different was cut painted and ready to install was in his shop along with my invoice. He showed up with a piece of raw lumber from the home depot complaining about having to pay $6.00 for it. when he returned to his truck to cut and stain it, he stained the wrong piece! when he returned with the right piece a few mins later it was quite obvious that the stain was not dark enough. He left me the only can of stain he had with him and said to try adding a couple more coats. I used some of my own stain and had it ready to install 2 hours later but now it could not be installed because the wet wood issue under the sill had to dry out. Again he said he would return in a week to take care of it.When I voiced my doubt he repeated himself. I then asked for my detailed invoice and was told he had forgotten it at home.He then wrote me up an invoice on a pre printed paper he had, that was NOT detailed but had his address on it.I asked for his card and supprisingly he had one. The address on the card did not match the one on the Invoice. HIs answer to this was he had moved and hadn't updated it , but the address on the invoice was where he lived.
I met Brian Schoo when I inquired at a local Lumber Yard about a carpenter / Not a handy man. They were very impressed with Mr. Shoo , said he had over 20 years carpentry experience documented with THE UNION that included all kinds of training schools. He also had built 26 custom stick built home's and carried a General Contractor's License He also had Pictures & Books to prove it!
After all of this I finally went to L&I of Moses Lake,WA. If Brian Schoo Did all of these thing's He must have been a very busy man! He has only had a General contractor's license for 4 years + 2 years to go.All his claims to be in the top 94 Percentile of all contractors in the State OF WA. are some Myth he has dreamed up. L & I do not track the statistic's he referenced nor know who would. Also his listed Address on his Contractor's License shows yet a 3rd Address.
