Hired Joe and his 'team' to remodel a bathroom, and replaster/touch up various areas in home affected by last year's ice dam damage. There were many problems, throughout the entire process. They never finished the project, although I stupidly gave Joe the entire invoiced amount in advance. What we have in the end is live-able, after I had to hound Joe for months, and I also had to independently hire professionals to finish what he would not. He left little things undone (the painting was sloppy, they left a huge hole in the plaster ceiling of the unfinished part of our basement, their electrician snipped the wire for our thermostat, they never cleaned up the bathroom after finishing the tiles... The list is long.) and in general, their work was shoddy (his cousin Jason was good and meticulous with the tiling, we think, but others made huge mistakes, like covering up a vent and a electrical outlet). He hired guys he'd just met at Lowes. He was not on site unless he was here to collect a payment. He seems like a nice enough guy. He seems capable of doing a professional job, but this was far from that.
