Dealt with this company to put up a small fence connecting from my garage to my house to close off the remainder of the yard for my dog. I would say about 25 feet. We were charged $1,300. Despite being overcharged, the price was far from the issue as it was our own fault for not getting a few other quotes prior to going with this company. Due to a dog in which runs off, we were willing to sacrifice money to to company that could get this done the quickest, as our dogs safety is priority.
The fence looked awful from the moment it was put up, such as a crooked gate in which slides and scrapes up my concrete. The fence not being even along the top, the fence not being flush with the ground, the fence being loose, the concrete where posts were poured looking bad....again... and we were willing to let this go as we still felt to blame for rushing and going with the first company as opposed to getting other offers.
This is where the real issue came in...when our 80lb pitbull is able to escape UNDER the fence due to it being so loose and not flush to the ground.
We had called back this company and asked them to correct this as the point of our fence was to keep our dog in the yard. We mentioned that a tension wire would be needed.
The owner Jose told us he would come by and correct this. Not once did he mention an extra charge.
Upon completion of this, we were told by his workers that Jose wanted an additional $75.
This is where I felt offended.
Not only was money never discussed, as we expected a completed job that would keep my dog in the yard, as we made it very clear that this is the reason we are getting a fence to begin with...but the tension wire is black, against a silver chain link fence. Also the fence is still loose as the tension wire is also loose.
There is no craftsmanship in this job what so ever at all.
Upon stating all my concerns to Jose, he was very rude. I had made it very clear to him that I was not going to mention a word to him about the awful job, but now felt I needed to as he expected more payment from me. Upon me voicing my concerns and asking him to correct these issues, he had threatened to send someone to my house to take down the fence while still charging me for materials.
So now I am left with paying for materials and having no fence at all? Or having an awful done and over priced fence. I am not sure what is so difficult about coming to correct all these issues?
I have worked with construction and contractors my entire life as my family has had a business for over 70 years now and never once have I seen such awful responses to a customers concerns. I would be the very LAST one to complain, as I know first hand that some can be unreasonable when it comes to expectations out of contractors...but this is down right unacceptable.
Anyone looking into this company, please steer clear. You will thank me later.
