Absolutely the worst company to have build your pool. My experience with Horald (owner) has been just horrible. He sells his company as "family run business" to get the customer to believe they are a loyal business and there to help you. (Buds concrete and Aquos pool are the same owners) This is absolutely false! Its has been just under 5 months and my pool is not finished yet and it has just failed inspection for the 3 time. Inspector even left an emphatic note stating if inspection fails again I will be charged a fine for having to come back out again. I wish I could post the inspection note.
Sadly this is not the worst of my experience with Aquos Pool. When my wife and I choose Aquos to build your pool we gave Harold the exact plan and design. In fact it was the plan of another estimate we received with exact measurements. We also told him our budget of 65k. A day later he gave us an estimate quote of roughly of 63k. We were excited to get things moving so we signed the contract of just under 63k. Everything moved smoothly until the deck was poured and the third payment was due. Harold had made an offer to discount the cost of decking if I paid cash by roughly 2k. So to save that extra cost I paid him the roughly $6500 the day of the pour. The money was paid to his brother and I received a receipt for the pour and was told that I could put whatever amount I wanted for tax purposes. RED FLAG! And I wish I could post a picture of that also. The very next day I received the email to sign for payment for 3rd installment and to my surprise the $6500 was not deducted from the bill. I called and emailed Harold very upset asking why the cash payment wasn't deducted and his response was the concrete poured was not part of the estimate. I told him how could that not be part of the estimate if I gave you exactly what I wanted, including the decking and even the pool plans from the previous pool company. Extremely upset I went back to read my contract and it doesn't state decking sq ft. At this point I refused to pay the 3rd payment without deducting the $6500. He did make an offer to go 50/50 on the difference but it was contingent that I could not voice my experience on social media. I refused because I didn't want to give up me right to voice my experience. After two days and getting some legal advice we just decided to pay it all. At this point my wife and I were tried of dealing with Harolds company and just wanted our backyard back. We didn't want to go through arbitration or attorney fees, it just wasn't worth it! So I emailed Harold and told him that I was just going to pay the full amount, so we could just get this thing done. He never responded and the next week he started the process to put a lien on my home. The funny thing was that lien was placed by the concrete company who I paid cash. After emailing him again he finally sent the authorization form so we could make the full payment. This was back in mid December! Since then inspection has failed 3 times! I believe they are doing this just just because they can. What licensed contractor cant remove USA markings from the street after an inspector has told you 3x in writing. I would not recommend Aquos Pool to my enemies.
