If you're looking for a deck builder in Coeur d'Alene who actually follows the schedule, Bugle Construction is the one to hire. From the first consultation to the final inspection, their team was professional, clear, and always on time. We were told our custom deck would be completed in two weeks, and they finished it exactly when they said they would. No delays. No rescheduling. Just solid, reliable work.
The crew showed up every morning on time, kept the worksite clean, and moved quickly without sacrificing quality. The deck they built is flawless. The materials are high-end, the craftsmanship is top-notch, and every board is perfectly aligned. We’ve had multiple neighbors ask who did it because it looks that good.
If you’re in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, or anywhere in North Idaho, and you want a contractor who respects your time and delivers high-quality work, Bugle Construction is the one to call. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable and skilled deck builder.

We hired Bugle Construction to build a Patio Cover based on a fair price, good reviews and they were the only company that would bid on the project. We went with Joe recommendation of using 4x6 rafters and a 3x9 ridge beam instead of trusses to give the project a timber look. We requested that plans be supplied so we could review them to ensure that the construction would be as we wanted. The material was delivered on time and the crew showed up close to the expected start time. No plans had been supplied yet and Joe with the concurrence of his lead decided to rest the side beams (where the rafters would sit) on top of the outer beam. This was not the look that we wanted and had them redo that work (cutting the outer posts and reinstalling them at the correct height) so the beams were all at the same height. There were a number of other decisions made during construction that were not conveyed to us and incorrect angle/length cuts made in the rafters. Most of the sloppy work was hidden by blocking although a fair amount of the blocking was not installed very well. The plywood sheathing had looked good from the bundle top, but as they were installed there are a few that have voids in the veneer that will need to be addressed before painting (staining is not an option due to the quality of the plywood). We will also replace the split and/or warped blocking ourselves as well. Plans were finally delivered when we withheld a reasonable amount from the final payment. While there are a few errors in the plans, they are close enough. We had decided to paint the finished product ourselves and will try to fix what we can for a more pleasing visual look. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Bugle Construction for professional-level work. They also have problems with communications, both with the homeowner and subcontractors. This caused issues that could have been avoided. If you decide to contract with this company, require plans before they start work, specify the material quality, and insist on approvals before any changes are made.

Bugle Construction replaced our 30-year-old porch with TREX, expanding the landing, adding wider steps for safety, and reattaching two sturdy handrails. They also installed a slide bolt for under-porch storage. The crew was punctual, respectful, and kept us updated throughout. A couple of small hiccups came up, but they were handled quickly. Very happy with the end result!
