    Extremely amateur work. Should have just done it myself. He hung cabinets and left nails sticking out of the crown molding. had cracked trim. tried filling broken spots with caulking. Would NEVER recommend to anyone

    I hired Build Re-Build on the advice and recommendation of a friend, rather than putting this rather large job out for bid. What a mistake !!!! The so-called finished project looks amateurish, unprofessional, sloppy, and any calls I make to the owner of this company, Mr. Bill Nolan, are not returned. He will NOT address the obvious problems, such as electrical outlets that are dangerously stuck on places they shouldn't be--they look as if they were slapped onto the columns with superglue, rather than put back where they were into the brickwork of the house as I requested, and he refused to do.,He also steadfastly insisted, though I was paying for the job, on using his brand of paint, rather than the one I wanted, which had the colors that I was familiar with and liked saying that every time he walked out of one that company's stores, he felt "raped." Well, now I know EXACTLY how that feels. Basically Mr. Nolan ran this entire project with total disregard to my desires and objections, patting me on my funny little head when I complained. At those times, I was met with condescension and dismissal. I wouldn't hire this company to build me a doghouse. I am now forced to go to James City County Government to redress my grievances, since Mr. Nolan is being so childish and churlish. One time when I called him to come over and see why I was so upset, he actually said to me, and I quote, "Why don't you call me back when you're sober." I pointedly informed him that I DO NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL WHATSOEVER, and hadn't since 1985, nor do I take drugs, or smoke, for his information." This is typical of his condescending male chauvinist attitude in general, as far as I am concerned, which I thought went out with most enlightened men, but I guess some men are caught in a time warp. Mr. Nolan also has several gallons of paint that I paid for, and have asked him in my voicemails (since he refuses to talk to me) to return to me, so that I can get the rest of the trim on my house to match the portico. I have also asked him repeatedly for the plans and architectural drawings, also my property, which he also refuses steadfastly to surrender. Lastly, He and his crews destroyed my sprinkler system in my front yard by severing one of the main supply hoses, and lost the light guards for the outside lights illuminating the driveway, so that they are now blinding when turned on, and I can't find replacements. No mention from Mr. Nolan has ever been made to fix any of these problems or destruction of my property. He has washed his hands of it, and told me that I have "always been a pain in the *ss to work with from the beginning." Nice talk from your contractor.
