I hired Joey Rovito to replace my roof in 2016. I knew it was a small company, didn't see any reviews but I like to root for the underdog and gave Building it Better a chance. It was an insurance job.
I already had a leak in my sunroom thinking that the new roof would repair this leak. The replacement not only did NOT fix that leak but I also discovered 2 more leaks and found out that the wood used in the replacement was full of knotty holes and the round pegs of wood just eventually fell out. This is where some of the leaks are coming from. I now have 4 leaks. And the wood planks have water damage and need to be replaced. This means I have gaping holes in my ceiling where the leaks finally came through and the insulation and ceiling tiles were removed. I should've known something was wrong when I asked Joey if the FUR on the bottom of the insulation bag was mold and he sd no it's fine, this bleach spray will take care of it. And he sprayed a little bleach spray on the bottom of the bag. I didn't know. He is supposed to be the professional. He will take advantage of you. Beware!!! And he will not honor the 10yr warranty. Hard to Google Building It Better but the address is 7538 Slate Ridge. Blvd in Reynoldsburg, OH. Also when I called him to see if he could repair the leak since it is still under warranty he texted back "I will not!" and to be honest it was at the beginning of the pandemic and he sd to call after. But 2 months later, I have recently seen and called other roofing companies who are out doing roofing work and they have said that most legitimate companies are back to work and that it's mostly outside work and not much close contact.

I am a patient person and understand mistakes happen, but the experience I had with this company made me lose many nights sleep.
A 4-6 week project booked in June was not finished in January when we fired them. Along the way, he did not listen to, or follow, instructions. In fact, he drew new plans for our front porch that weren’t even what we asked for or gave him. It wasn’t until it was constructed that we even knew he drew different plans.
In 5 months, they finished about 50% of the work and we had to hire a new contractor to remove most of what they had done and start over.
Excuse after excuse why they couldn’t be at our house working. The final straw was when he said they didn’t do exterior projects on the winter. Mind you, we booked him in June and he started in August.
Electric work had to be redone because wiring wasn’t going to all lights, the roof planks were sagging already and had to be re attached when the new crew came in.
All in all, there are much better contractors out there. It should say something that he shares an office with a family member attorney. When you confront this company regarding deposit return, they lawyer up. Hmmmm...
Steer clear.
