Shaun was extremely responsive to emails, calls & texts. The entire process was simple and easy from first contact. An estimate and final invoice were delivered promptly.
If anything, the work took longer than expected but the cost did not change because of it, which was a relief!

We signed our contract with Shaun on 3/4/17. After we had to make some changes, we agreed on a plan in early April and paid a 50% deposit. Job was supposed to be about 3 weeks long. We never haggled price and agreed to every recommendation Shaun made. He set the price from the beginning and we said fine. From there we got nothing but a slew of excuses of why work wasn't happening. Over and over, Shaun would make a commitment to be there or complete some portion of the job and he simply wouldn't show up or bother to call. I would then start calling and texting (he runs his whole business over text) and he wouldn't answer or respond for several days. Each excuse was more creative than the previous i.e. phone is broken, he's sick, his wife is sick, him and his cousin / foreman got in a fight, etc. - this went on for over 3 months and I have the text message history to prove it. We finally had to hire another contractor just to get our backyard back only to find out that the minimal work that was done was substandard, i.e. warped forms for concrete (which I pointed out and Shaun said they're fine), inadequate depth for concrete, improper mortar for fire pit, etc. They even left their wheelbarrows and tools at our property for 3 months and we finally had to give them away just to get rid of them after Shaun said they would come and get them but of course we never heard from him which was pretty much how he operated the whole summer. My wife and I just grew accustomed to him lying every time he said anything - it became a joke in our house. Shaun asked for what I thought a suitable refund amount was and said he wouldn't fight or argue. I generously said $1500 despite the fact that I had to pay a legit contractor more to fix the issues. Of course we haven't heard from him since. We currently have a complaint pending with consumer affairs and the attorney general of PA. By the way, the review by Byrne Masonry above is from his foreman / cousin who was also part of the project - they even put pictures of our unfinished project on this site. Sad that these people are able to continue doing business.
