    Remodel

    Please stay clear of this construction company. We did a remodel with them, finished in spring 2021. The first problem occurred in May 2021, when our whole basement bedroom was flooded because they did not construct the window well properly, it was too shallow. The bedroom had my son’s apartment furnishings stored in it, stacked to the ceiling, everything had to be removed, including carpeting for water damage remediation; many weeks of work on our part. They did repair window well.
    What caused me to write this review, however, and warn others, was a second flooding event in the ceiling in the new remodel area this spring. It was discovered by our architect after removing siding, that the framers left a gaping 6 in foot by three feet hole in the plywood wall leading into the roof, so it had been leaking in the hole and attic space for 2 years, finally breeching into ceiling, destroying drywall, trim etc. (they put siding directly on top of the hole!). Black mold was throughout the whole ceiling space. We have missed many weeks of work due to meeting with roofing contractors, insurance inspectors, mold remediators, etc. and still do not have things fully fixed. Krueger only gave us the name of their insurance company via email and never apologized once to us for this on-going nightmare they have caused. What was the most upsetting, however, was that they refused to help us fix the inside water damage to the drywall and trim, when we could not find a GC to do this small of a project, despite us pleading with them to help us. Once Krueger gets your money, they don’t have any interest in you. They are bad people without the decency to apologize for an enormous inconvenience to their client due to their faulty construction, but what is the most unbelievable is their refusal to fix the damages that they caused (likely because fixing their mistakes does not provide a profit to them). Take my advice, stay away.

    We just had a remodel of our 1980 Country Estates split level completed by the amazing crew of Built By Krueger. This team of talented carpenters, project managers, designers and their sub contractors were amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of them, their skills, and their work ethic. These are the guys to go to if you have a major project you want done.
