I got an estimate from Andy Chattoo of Bay Area Brace and Bolt more than five months ago. I had been approved for the $3000 FEMA assistance and accepting him as my contractor. For months he kept telling me that he was waiting on the permit through Santa Clara County. I finally contacted the county to find out that he had never put in for the permit. Unfortunately after multiple attempts to contact him to proceed with the project he has now disappeared. My last communication with him was him finally admitting that he never put in for the permit after all and expressing his annoyance with the fact that he would have to schedule an appointment to get the permit through the county of Santa Clara for the project. If he had been honest and told me months ago that he never put in for a permit, I wouldn't be in the predicament of losing the $3000 funding. There's a time limit to these things. So not only did he not put in for the permit, or complete the project, he caused me to lose $3000. I don't appreciate being lied to, or losing $3000 in FEMA funding. I not only emailed him, texted him, and called him dozens of times over the last couple of months, but also sent him a letter. All of which he ignored. So he will totally leave you hanging and may cost you your funding too. This company is best to be avoided at all costs.

Do not hire Chris Hamilton, he will spend your money that you have already paid him. It is 4 years and 9 months since we hired him to build a 1,200 square foot home, it is now 15 months past plan approval and it is still not finished. This has been a nightmare experience. I have been hesitating to write any kind of review because he's explained to me that he needs the money from other jobs to finish mine, but at this point I feel like I have nothing to lose. He has already spent the money I paid
