I was in need of AC repair and I called this company.
They quoted me a minimum charge of a $107 one hour service fee plus a $117 “diagnostic fee” to DETERMINE the cost of repairs.
The technician came to my home and was UNABLE to determine the cost of repairs.
Instead of receiving a proposal for repairs…
I was sent an estimate for $1400 to do additional testing to determine the cost of repairs.
I attempted to discuss with them my dissatisfaction with a diagnostic fee to “provide a proposal for repairs” that resulted in an exorbitant estimate for additional diagnostics, I offered to pay for the service call but asked that they not charge for the diagnostic fee since they did not provide me with a repair proposal.
Unfortunately to no avail.
I chose instead to call another company which offered free estimates ( which I found that many companies are happy to do )…
Thankfully the second company that I called out was able to fix my problem without any additional testing required.
There are good service providers out there. Unfortunately California Comfort Control doesn’t appear to be one of them.
