We had Scott come out and his crew installed a fence that I drew up. All in all, it was a bit nerve racking because I was having to coordinate between paver work/landscaping with another contractor while relying on CFC to come and install the fence. California Fence Company didn't work on weekends or during any signs of rain, so while the other contractor was working their tail off to get things done, the fence guys were not able to do their part on time.
Finally they showed up to do the work and of course in middle of rushing to dig holes, they broke my waterline from the meter. This caused delays for the day and also eventually broke the concrete on my brick work that I had on the sidewalk because ultimately the ground shifted under the sidewalk due to their neglect. As a matter of fact, there seems to be some sort of inconsistency to the water I get now as it sputters occasionally coming from my hose, but there's nothing I can prove.
Overall, the fence looked great, but within a month, I noticed a crack in the support beam and asked that he come out and fix. Two months later, no word at all! In the meantime, I am noticing that the main front gate that I use everyday is not hung straight or plumb. It is starting to bug me every single day since I am looking at this crooked fence/gate every time I use it. It's driving me nuts actually. We paid $6000 for a 5ft fence not covering much property as it is across our front yard to the garage. I don't think it's a tough fix and I texted him to remind him that he hasn't addressed the issue and also sent pictures of the crooked gate.
They finally came by early one morning and did absolutely nothing. I was in my home office and supposedly they knocked on the door but I, nor my two dogs heard anything. They hung around the gate and looked at it and left without doing one thing...as I saw on my security footage later. When I asked Scott what was going on, he just told me it was obvious what needed to be fixed and they just needed longer screws. A week later and nothing. Two more texts and no response at all!
In all honesty, I wish I had read reviews of this company before I hired them. If I had known the follow through and support wasn't there, I would never have used them. Be WARNED is all I can say.
I'm sure I can fix the gate and support on my own with help from a friend, but I don't have the time so I will go ahead and get another company to have them fix the fence and then start a small claims court lawsuit.
