    Patio
    $11,000

Hired Calvillo construction to install a patio for us a year or so ago. Work took a long time but ultimately was completed. Although the last part of the job when he came back to cut the joint lines it was completely botched. The joint lines are crooked and also done when the concrete was too wet and they look absolutely terrible. Brought this to their attention and was told he was a man of his word and will come back and fix it. Then completely quit responding to any texts or calls. I believe this is because it can’t be fixed. So ultimately we paid thousands of dollars for a job that we are not satisfied with and looks awful. I am aware it was too long ago to do anything now. But buyer beware would not recommend to anyone.

    Fence and driveway
    $20,000

John calvillo is a thief ,he stole $6500 deposit and disappeared, we hired John Calvillo to install a driveway and fence in our house in Westlake Ohio , the contract was made one April 12th and he get paid $6500 deposit and he supposed to start working in a week. After he got the money he became a different man , he gets mad if we call him to ask when he’s going to start working . He kept lying on us then he blocked our phones . We’ll make sure to sue John calvillo and his company as he’s a thief, lying and scam contractor.

He never came back to finish the top soil and re seeding. The lawn was really dug up further than was necessary and really looked bad. It was late at night and dark when he came and pulled out the wood forms. He wouldn't answer calls or texts. Actually, he did call back one time to tell me he hasn't forgotten me. That's the last I heard from him. I finally bought 12 bags of top soil and seed, finished it myself. It's a shame because he seemed so friendly. I fed 9 men and bought a cooler of water and sodas too! They liked their own beverages of beer then helped themselves to the cooler I left for them under a nice shade tree. I learned one big lesson, really do your homework and never pay that 2nd. half of the payment till the forms, topsoil and seeding are done. The dug up the lawn and set the slabs of grass and soil where ever and killed the grass on all those areas also. The drive way itself I would give a 7 out of ten. There are extra small globs of cement I had to use a chisel to chip off and the apron was smoothed but not an even line. They could of used a little bit more, 2 quarts maybe to make it look more even and not sloppy as if they just suddenly "Stopped" and went home to never come back and finish. That's my comment, hope you choose wisely!

Response from Calvillo Construction February 27, 2022
MY NAME IS JOHN CALVILLO AND I AM THE OWNER, FIRST OF ALL I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THIS IS COMPLAINING, BUT A COUPLE THINGS HERE #1 LIKE MOST CONTRACTORS WE DO NOT FILL IN WITH TOP SOIL WHERE THE FORMS WERE REMOVED UNLESS ITS IN THE CONTRACT, AND TALKING AT THE END ABOUT 2 QUARTS ??? 2 QUARTS OF WHAT ??? ALSO I DON'T EVEN DRINK AT ALL, AND IN MY CONTRACTS I ALWAYS WRITE, FINAL PAYMENT UPON COMPLEATION AND SATISFIED I DO CONCRETE AND NOT LANDSCAPING AND PLANTING GRASS. IF IT WAS REQUESTED OR IN THE CONTRACT BELIEVE ME IT WOULD OF BEEN DONE. AND ONE LAST THING IF THIS CUSTOMER HAD ANY VALID COMPLAINT ALLS THEY HAD TO DO WAS HAVE THE BUILDING INSPECTOR COME OUT. AND IF THE CONTRACTOR WAS IN VIOLATION OF ANY WORK ACCORDING TO THE CITY CODE AND OR WORKMANSHIP WRITING OUT IN CONTRACT, AT THAT POINT BELIEVE ME THE CITY WOULD MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS DONE RIGHT. ONCE AGAIN INVOICE I RIGHT STATE PAY BALANCE UPON COMPLETION AND SATISFIED. AND YES I AM VERY NICE AND A MAN OF MY WORD. TODAY FEB 27 2022 IS THE FIRST TIME IM SEEING THIS COMPLAINT DATE BACK FROM 2019. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THIS IS. THANK YOU JOHN CALVILLO 216 376 7168
