    Convert a garage into and ADU

    My experience was terrible. I never will recomend this company. I hired a contractor Josef to complete an ADU construction project at my property located in Palmdale

    The contractor Josef left the country approximately three months ago and has not returned.

    A project manager AJ remained on-site, [but he only was present to pick up the check or sometimes for the inspection] who now claims to be responsible for the project but refuses to provide the contractor’s license number or workers' compensation insurance.

    The original contractor filed an exemption with CSLB claiming he works only with subcontractors and has no employees.

    However, in documents submitted to the City of Palmdale, he indicated that he does have workers' compensation insurance, listing an insurance company and phone number that is now disconnected.

    The proyect manager AJ claims the workers are his employees, yet also refuses to provide his license information or insurance documentation.

    The worksite has been left in unsanitary and dangerous conditions, including:

    Trash, food containers, and empty bottles scattered around the property.

    A worker bled inside the ADU and in my parking area, and initially denied it until I mentioned surveillance cameras.

    Blood-stained rags and gauze were found stuffed inside construction holes in the ADU structure.

    The area was never properly cleaned or sanitized, and work continued in unsanitary conditions.

    The contractor pressured me to pay ahead of schedule, stating that if I didn’t pay in advance, they would stop working.

    He did not honor the agreed payment schedule.

    After I filed a complaint with CSLB and posted honest online reviews, he contacted me and asked me to:

    Cancel the CSLB complaint and

    Delete my reviews, in exchange for continuing work and modifying the contract (e.g., removing a fence from the scope).

    He refused to send a new agreement unless I first complied with his demands, which I believe is a form of coercion and manipulation.

    The PM refused to cooperate, responded sarcastically (including messages like “GPT helping LOL”), and reacted with disrespectful emojis when I requested license and insurance information.

    I also mailed a certified letter to the contractor requesting proof of insurance and license, but it was returned marked “vacant.”
    The project is now severely delayed; it was originally expected to be completed bythe end of July 2025, but it remains incomplete with unresolved structural and safety issues.

    I have experienced significant stress, financial pressure, and safety concerns as a result.

Josef was always in communication with us throughout the project, keeping us advised of progress and any issues that came up so that they could be handled immediately.     Josef and Izik worked on my garage and I was happy with their work. They were very upfront throughout the process and followed through on what they said they’d do. Whenever there was something that didn’t quite match my expectations, they made sure to fix the issues until I was satisfied. My project finished on budget and I’m happy with the end result.

    Extensive remodeling of my house.

    I was looking for a contractor to do the remodeling of my house. As you know, when you are contracting someone to do your house, you have to be very careful because you plan to live in it. Also, I wanted to make sure that the contractor does not waste my money, my time and destroy my dream house. Therefore, I was very hesitant to go with just any contractor simply because I did not trust them. Furthermore, I usually get a contractor based on recommendations. However, in this case I decided to give Joseph a chance. I must say that only after the first few minutes of my conversation with Joseph, I noticed that he was very pleasant and honest. I trusted him so much that I decided to sign up with him right away. So, I signed up with him and he completed the project very nicely and without cutting any corners. He paid a lot of attention to details and even more details that did not even occur to me. Having said that, I am planning to contract with him again over a bigger project. I SIMPLY TRUST HIM!
