    Chris did a great job designing the garden plants and walkways as well as overseeing the plantings and construction work. He is also very good at follow up to see that the garden continues to progress. I would give him my very highest rating. G. Coughlan

    I DO See It From My House

    Ray was recommended by some good friends. Great first impression. Gave us a great price. Did a complete walk around and provided helpful observations. He, or rather his guy were to start and be finished before we got back from vacation. They were not. It appeared that the guy was on his own the whole time although I am not sure of it. When he was finally done, Ray came back by to check up. He told us how hard it was to do and that the previous paint job was the reason for all of the blemishes. I got a lot of detail regarding the atrocities of the previous paint and it's application. It struck me later as odd that those same observations were not made prior to the application of the new paint, when the previous paint was UNOBSTRUCTED. He also told me that the paint had no lead in it. This was not based on a test but on years of experience. I did fin out when I painted the front door however, that at least that paint WAS lead based! Ok so after a short time, the paint at the joint between the redwood siding began to crack and leave white seams at those joints. He came by and we talked and I asked him what I could do about it, and that I was happy to do the touch up stuff on my own if he could let me know how to do it. He INSISTED that he would take care of it and make it right. He gave me his detailed plan which which would involve many visits when the weather changed. This all started in July of 2013. By the following July, strangely, we still had not heard from Ray. Not in person. Not in e-mail. Not on the phone. Nothing. I found his number and sent a text. He was very apologetic and I was not angry because I still stupidly believed that he would "make it right." Well once again, he came by to "tell me" what he would eventually do. So while on vacation again in October, he showed up while my oldest son was house sitting for one day. The only trace we could find of Ray or his work was the partially emptied container of colored caulk he left on the ground on the side of my house. It went well with the discarded drink containers the first guy left. In my most neutral tone possible, I would not recommend this guy. My impression, super nice guy with way too much on his plate to be any good on a single job. Hopefully others have had better experiences and ours was only an anomaly, but I seriously doubt it. Especially with excuses AFTER the fact and the absence of communication.
