Rick is a very highly skilled craftsmen! We commissioned him for three projects in our home, and recommend him to absolutely everyone. Most that see his work recognize it as work of the highest quality, and that really starts the conversation off... with where did you get that or can we get his number? Our friends and family have used him as well, and have been completely satisfied.
Not to mention Rick is honest, trustworthy, easy to work with, and delivers far more than you expected for the price. COMPLETELY SATISFIED, ALWAYS!
Can hardly wait for the next project.

First of all, I'll admit right up front that the one-star rating is inappropriate. This site, however, won't let me give a lower score than that.
Hiring Ric to build our fence and to GC a large project of home repair/renovation after a particularly nasty storm was, without question, the WORST mistake we've made in the 10+ years of owning this home. Incompetent and fully unqualified to do the job he was hired for doesn't even begin to cover the truly poor and amateurish quality of his "work."
The fence he built for us would have been unacceptable from a one-armed, blind twelve year old. We told Ric several times that our dogs use our backyard and so our main priority was a secure fence without gaps at the bottom that would allow them to escape. As sure as the sun rises in the East, when Ric was "finished," there were multiple gaps around the fence through which our dogs could squeeze. When we pointed this out to him, Ric's answer was not to fix the fence, but to put up some ugly green landscape edging on one side, and a couple of bricks on the other side. Although he was supposed to reset all the metal posts to strengthen the fence, he clearly couldn't be bothered, as the majority of them still move around in the ground. The gate that he made for us is a piece of junk; shortly after installation, one of the slats came loose and threatened to fall out of its frame. Only a couple of actual wood screws are keeping it there now.
When we questioned Ric about these shortcomings, he became rude and combative, responding, "Please let me finish before you start complaining." He was very rude to my wife, to the point that she was afraid to have him come to the house if I wasn't there. I don't expect this kind of behavior from a contractor I've hired.
I could go on with a longer list of the deficiencies, but what's the point. This $4k fence isn't worth $1.98. When we pressed him and tried to get him to commit to bringing the fence up to the standard we expected - and had discussed at length with him - he got angry and stormed off the job, leaving us the lurch trying to find a new GC to finish the work on our home.
To cap it all off, we got a text from him the other day, saying, "When can I expect the balance of my payment?" It took everything we could muster not to laugh in his face. Considering the pathetic quality of his work, he was vastly overpaid to begin with. Since he walked off, we've had several actual fencing professionals look at the mess he made, and they all tell us that they've never seen anything so badly done. It now looks like we're going to have to spend another $4k to get an actual fence, and not the sad and broken down farce that he calls "professional work."
Do yourself a favor: stay far, far away from this incompetent boob. Check the Good Contractor's List or something like that (which is what we should have done), or get your dog to do the work. It will no doubt be better than the slop Ric delivers, and will only cost a few biscuits. You'll be better off all the way around.
