    Build a basic structure

    Lack of attention to detail, used unlicensed contractors, changes materials, little to no supervision, messy, and they will tell you what great Christians they are.

    Punchline: Do NOT build with Cascade West.

    They will seek to do the absolute very least they can get away with. I don't know about you but that's certainly not the experience I was looking for going with an 'upscale' homebuilder.

    Their warranty is about as good as garbage. They'll shove it in your face to show you why certain things that were their fault do not qualify to be fixed under their warranty. A little while after we moved in, we realized that their painters stained our carpet when they were doing touch-up work. We emailed them to seek a resolution and the response we got was basically 'your problem because you didn't catch it on the walk-through'. I'm in the service industry and when we make a mistake or cause anything but a superior experience, I make sure we fix it. I certainly don't forward the client a bunch of forms that show why we're not going to make it right. I feel like they just like saying 'Gotcha!'

    You'll notice a theme here - they also did not finish the driveway for a few months after we moved in due to the fact they were still building the home next to us. Fine, but the amount of inconvenience this caused us was substantial and they made no effort to alleviate it. When they were pouring the final concrete, they said they'll lay a path for us to access our home. Shocker! - they didn't. My wife gets home from work and had to walk barefoot through the mud. Also - during the time the concrete was hardening, one of their workers scraped it with the make-shift sign they created.

    Let's keep going - they also cheaped out on the AC unit they installed as it doesn't cool our house properly because it is not big enough for the home. The outlets constantly trip in the home when you plug in just about anything. They didn't level our front yard so there is a large decline off the concrete in the front making it very difficult to mow the lawn.

    Also - no surprise here, our HOA states that no adjacent home can be the same color. Guess what color they painted the home next to us? You guessed it! - same color as ours. They said they'll re-paint it but come on. What a joke.

    Attention to detail with these people is something that was gone long ago. Do yourself a HUGE favor and find another homebuilder.

    Cascade West Development- clueless on quality

    I purchased a new home Oct. 2013. It’s been an ongoing “discovery” of one defect after another. Cascade West Development is absolutely clueless on understanding FIRST TIME QUALITY so be prepared to own an “orphan home” where Cascade hands off defect correction to the contractor and essentially stays out of it…(both of my showers are not useable as I write this.).
    Also, be careful on materials/fixtures/workmanship. You’ll find Cascade specs for fixtures, features, and amenities are “baseline” and minimal at best for a $600k+ home. (I was told the house was plumbed for central vac only to be advised later to the contrary by the supplier…what a hassle that installation was).
    Again, buyer beware and be prepared to adopt an orphan.
