  COMPLETE SCAM! He cheated us in more ways than one but most awful was stealing $75,000 from our construction loan. This guy is disgusting. Please do not make the same mistake we did. For others that have been scammed by Steve- email [email protected]

  Build house

  Steve is a scam artist. His brother Paul is very unprofessional and rude. They are thieves. They took money and did nothing. Run far away from them.

  House renovation and addition

  We signed a contract with this builder in October 2021 and had a terrible experience since. After the contract was signed and Steve had our $25,000.00 deposit we felt Steve was not on top of the zoning/permit process. The communication was poor as well. Since we cancelled the Contract he has not returned our email, phone calls or letters but has kept our $25,000 deposit although he has not done any work in our house. We will be pursuing litigation against him and his company.

  New Construction

  We began engaging with Steve/Cassio Builders for the construction of our new home in June of 2020. We completed our contract in September 2020 with project completion in March 2021 and extension deadline bringing us to May 2021. Throughout the weeks and months we worked with Steve, we were presented with constant excuses and delays for our project. Despite working through some selections (per Steve’s request, but without much guidance), as of the beginning March our construction had not even started, and necessary materials were not ordered. After speaking with another 2 of Steve’s clients, we found that both of those projects were also significantly delayed (one 5+ months past estimated completion and the other not yet started within the month of planned completion). Now they are having trouble getting their phone calls returned and projects moved forward. To say we are completely unsatisfied with the relationship with this builder would be a total understatement. We have since ended our contract and are taking up legal action to recoup funds drawn that were not been spent on our project. We've recently heard allegations that there are other outstanding legal claims against Steve/Cassio Builders that we were unaware of prior to this week. It appears Steve is more focused on continuing to sign on projects than to complete the projects he is currently contracted for. I'm posting this in hopes of preventing what happened to us from happening to others. Steve is a charmer, full of lies and overpromises. While his intentions may not be bad from the onset, he has significantly overstretched himself and does not appear capable of remedying the situation.
