As a 1st time home buyer to a 1920s building, with structural and cosmetic problems; I had several unanticipated structural issues that needed to be addressed immediately . Prior to meeting with Eric Castillo I found the majority of the contractors to be dismissive and unwilling to explain to me what the problems were and what were my options to address the problem until I found Castillo Engineering and Construction, on a consumer site, which was listed with 5 stars. (I live in a Condo- Which made it even more tenuous in addressing structural issues.)
I greatly appreciated the honesty and services of Castillo Engineering and Construction. As a single woman/ 1st time home-buyer Eric, the owner of Castillo Engineering and Construction, came to look initially at a disintegrated structural beam under my bathroom. He did measurements to see to what degree of difference the house was sloping, which is much more than the other contractors would do without an upfront fee. Then took the time to clearly show me the difference of the measurements, and explained to me what they meant. I hired him and his team, which demo'd my bathroom floor, replaced the support beams, set concrete piers, lifted and matched my subflooring/ flooring. My floors are now even again! And although he and his team advised me that the lifting of my house would cause cracking in the walls, before they did any work, it was extremely minimal. This also stopped my front door from having to be plained every 1-2 months because of the deterioration of the beams. He and his crew were completely professional, they showed up when they said they would show up, they stayed on schedule, and ON BUDGET! Put my bathroom back together again (Including Re-tiling and repainting the walls that had been damaged from the demolition.)
Castillo Engineering and Construction team was aware I was on a tight budget and had to stay within HOA guidelines for the work. He gave me advice and options to help cut costs at every turn.Eric and his team made me feel empowered. He showed me cosmetic options that I could do myself and cost effective measurements. These guys aren't out to take your money. They give you options from best case scenario to worst, and at every step you don't feel it is someone talking at you but rather someone who is helping to show you options. (He never attempted to up sell me on anything.) I have recommended Eric to my friends who own homes and my HOA association.
I love and trust their refreshing honesty and will use there services again. I HIGHLY recommend them for your next project.

I’m very happy to have worked with Eric Castillo and his team. They basically gutted and rebuilt out fixer homes interior. We demo’d existing walls to completely open-up our living areas to a new full height glass wall. The scope included new insulation, drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring throughout, a new custom gas fireplace and a beautiful new custom kitchen. It turned out great!
Thanks Eric I hope we can work with you again.
