By Marvin S.June 25, 2020Replaced siding and windows$78,000
Castleworks Construction was brought in as a sub-contractor so we knew nothing about him. They replaced windows and siding on our house(vinyl windows and hardie plank siding). The work was sloppy. They showed little respect for the homeowners property. Many windows are difficult to open. Some are not plumb. Some are not square. Several pieces of siding are wavy, some are gaping along the bottom edge and some were chipped along the bottom edge but installed anyway. They removed and reinstalled 3 outside lights. 2 of the 3 didn't work after they reinstalled. A few months later one started falling off the wall because they missed the stud when screwing it in. They lost strike plate screws from a new lockset and just used whatever they had. In this case, 1 1/4 exterior grey exterior screws when the locksets were dark oil rub. One exterior receptacle was reinstalled with only one screw. Once piece of siding was cut too long but they jammed it in anyway, splaying the channel. They left a gaping hole just below the soffit of a valley easily big enough for squirrels to get into the attic. And the list goes on. To date (bc we keep finding new issues) the list of things that were not so good ( to put it mildly) is about 40 entries long. Bottom line, I would not recommend Castleworks Construction nor would I recommend any contractor that uses them as a sub.
