    Design and Build Custom Home

    The issue started with the draftsman Castlebuilt currently uses. He was difficult to work with, focused on problems and not solutions, and refused to communicate over the phone or in person. Texting back and forth is not a good way to design a custom home or problem solve. We relayed out concerns to Brain at Castlebuilt and they seemed to fall on deaf ears.

    Also, Brian insists on using an app for all communicate and to manage projects. While the app works to discuss routine items, for more formative and complex issues texting back and forth via his app is not ideal. This created several problems and did not help move our project forward. Again we communicated out concerns and he took no corrective action. Additionally, after our deposit was placed, Brian became increasingly difficult to reach over the phone. As a result we soon began to feel like our project was not a priority.

    After weeks of unproductive time spent engaged in back and forth “text only” discussions, we opted to end our arrangement with Brian and Castlebuilt. Since we’d not been given any finalized plans to review, we felt it would be fair to request a partial refund. He refused, although his contract language did clearly state the deposit was non-refundable. We hope others who chose Castle Built have a more positive and productive experience, but that was not the case for us. Buyer beware…
