    Replace Roofing

    Mr. Edmiston was paid over 90% of the quoted price for the job in September; he was aware that the property was unoccupied until November1 and the job needed to be done prior to a new family moving in with 2 dos and 4 children.
    He did not do the job until mid - November, charging me an extra $2000 over the price that had been quoted. But the worst aspect of dealing with him was that he was aware we desired to put a more expensive composite roof, as that is what we were replacing. We decided to wait and put an asphalt shingle roof on in the interim, though we had experienced not one drop of leakage inside. The reason there was no leakage was because of the copper valleys that lined the areas where the roof lines joined. He started the job at 8 in the morning and by the time i got to the jobsite, the roof was partially removed and there was a huge pile of shiny bright copper in the backyard. I asked him if it was the new copper for the bay window but he informed me that they had stripped the valleys of the copper.
    I told him to put it back on, but he refused, saying he was ready to start puttig on the new roof. He was not happy when i called a metal recyler and had it picked up so that he could not resell it.
    The house had belonged to my parents. Someday soon there will be another generation of our family living there. And i will be paying thousands extra for the new composite roof, when the asphalt roof Cedar One installed fails at the valleys in a few years. Run, don't walk away from this unscrupulous roofer.

    Jim did not complete the job and was paid in full. His work left much to be desired. Many open gaps in soffit and fascia. His employees like to drink and party and it definitely shows in the quality of their work, very poor.
