    We purchased our house in 2018 and we contracted an architect to make some improvements that we had determined were necessary. Two major deficiencies were there was very little insulation above the ceilings. The other was the laundry room was poorly located and was awkward to use. Our architect specified a new steeper roof pitch and a new location for the laundry room. The major obstacle was we would need to live in the house during the remodel. The job was quite involved and we had no success finding a contractor who wanted to do this project. Then we found David Gayhart and the Central Builders Group. From day one David had a clear grasp of the job and what was involved. The job began and progressed on schedule. All was going well until two major hurricanes hit. Then David and his group changed their focus and began flood mitigation the day after Helene. We are very satisfied with David and the Central Builders group and are loving our improvements to our house. We will still be calling on the CBG for other future projects.

    ⭐️ Central Builders Group - St. Petersburg, FL
    I strongly advise against hiring Central Builders Group for any construction work. My experience with them was highly disappointing, and I feel compelled to warn others to avoid similar issues.
    We contracted Central Builders Group for a home renovation project. Unfortunately, they failed to deliver on their promises. Key issues included:
    • Incomplete Work: The painting was substandard and left unfinished, despite their claims of completion.
    • Permit Problems: The company did not secure the correct permits for our project, and we later learned from the City of Treasure Island that the permit details were misrepresented.
    • Unprofessional Conduct: Communication was poor, with little follow-through on commitments. When we raised concerns about the progress, the company halted work for extended periods, delaying the project further.
    • Tool Misuse: Several of our personal tools, including high-value items, were used without permission and went missing during the project.
    • Payment Disputes: They requested payment far exceeding the work completed, which violated our contract terms. Less than a third of the project was done when they demanded nearly full payment.
    • Subcontractor Issues: We heard from other sources that subcontractors faced payment delays, which may have contributed to the poor quality of work.
    These issues resulted in significant additional costs to correct their work and complete the project with another contractor. After terminating their services, they placed a lien on our property, adding to the stress.
    I’ve learned from neighbors in Treasure Island that they’ve had similar experiences with unfinished projects, and some are working with local authorities to address these concerns. This pattern suggests Central Builders Group is unreliable and may take advantage of customers.
    I urge anyone considering this company to research thoroughly and explore other contractors. My experience was costly and frustrating, and I hope this review helps others avoid the same.

    Backyard landscaping

    Central Builders Group redid my whole backyard. It used to be all grass with a small concrete walkway and very small concrete patio area. Now it is a combination of pavers and AstroTurf. Super low maintenance. They helped pick out the materials that would be both durable, good looking and in my price range. Even with a few small modifications the stayed on budget. I went from never using my backyard to loving my backyard.

    I recently had the pleasure of working with Central Builders Group on my home balcony project. I was looking for a local builder with experience in my area who was friendly, affordable, and professional, and Central Builders Group by far delivered. From the first time we spoke, they were responsive, and attentive, and made sure to listen to my needs and preferences. One of my biggest concerns going into this project was affordability and staying within a strict budget while not compromising on the quality of work. Central Builders Group understood my concerns and my vision and provided a detailed and transparent breakdown of costs while also remaining in constant contact with me throughout the entire project. I was very impressed with this company and I will be using them in the future for my home building needs.
