Certified Roofing Specialists Reviews
4 out of 5 stars, based on 3 reviews

    Reroofing

Summary: More Than a Waste of Time. Every bad review is accurate!

Scope of work: roof tear off and replacement

    Who: Steve and Leo

    Details:

I don't typically write reviews unless it is extremely horrific or amazing. However, this one is what we truly call a nightmare or a pain in the a**

Initially it started out great and they give you confidence in your choice. Seems like a company that is professional, fair, and very responsive (only in the beginning). However, once we scheduled a date to perform the work, everything started going down hill.

First, they become unresponsive. No notice of any changes or cancellations.

I even mentioned several times that I had rearranged my work schedule to be present. No one showed. No one called. No one texted. The only way I was going to get any information was by calling. Keep in mind that leaving messages and sending emails and text messages did nothing. When they do pick up the phone, they will then tell me a story. "There were some difficulties getting the permit. It's going to cost more because of the city codes."

I said okay so a structural engineer is needed (what I had requested in the beginning because we were going from shingles to tiles (huge weight difference). They stated "don't worry, you don't need one. Trust me"

Structural engineer comes out and it turns out that there are areas that need extra structural support or the roof could collapse with the weight of the tiles. So a good thing the city had "higher standards."

We renegotiated prices to make it happen and came to an agreement. Costing me more of course and the work hasn't even started. I thought maybe this was an honest mistake.

Wrong! They then decided to drag things along. Lack of follow up and false promises. Instead of saying we no longer want to take the job, they continued to string us along providing zero communications and updates. Anytime we want to get an update, we would have to call and you'd only get a response if someone picks up. Otherwise, it goes into a black hole (no return messages or texts). They mentioned several times when they will get back to us and at least 7 times we ended up waiting to hear back from them. I have text messages of them saying we will get back to you with a status update, etc. (See attached).

Only false promises and lies until you find that they no longer made any attempts at getting the permit at all, but they won't tell you that of course...

It's like someone telling you they are on the way constantly, but they never left their house. They had no intent on doing so but decide to feed you lies. You are talking about people who do not have the balls to tell you they changed their minds so instead everytime you talk to them they make up different stories and provide different promises.

We ended up wasting months with these unprofessional, frustrating, and annoying fakes.

I hope this truly helps people make better informed decisions because it is really easy to fall for the fake sell. They are good at it.

It makes me wonder how good the work truly is if this is how they do business. Will prices change once the work starts? How's the quality of work if they can't even be up front about things...

If anyone does decide to go with this company... all I can say is "Good luck...."

My experience with certified Roofing Specialists!
As we all know interviewing potential contractors can be very nerve-wracking not knowing who you can really trust with what they are telling you so I tend to use body language and demeanor things like that to try to tell if I'm being Bamboozled or not.
I met with Jose initially and was very pleased with his representation of certified Roofing specialists! He was very punctual with all Communications and appointments he also arrived in a highly visible company vehicle and was a pleasure to talk with he was not only interested in signing the deal as most contractors are he cared about my needs and wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied and the happy owner of a new GIF solar reflective roof on my home!
The crew showed up on time on start date and just went after it like gangbusters!!
As with all projects of this nature there's going to be some hiccups along the way.
I contacted Jose he was very receptive to my concerns and address the issues immediately. thank you Jose!
I am pleased to recommend certified Roofing specialist as your contractor for your project!
I'd like to thank everybody involved with this project especially the guys in the trenches LOL meaning the guys on the roof!!.
You've done an outstanding job for me and I appreciate it thank you!
    Richard Grove.

    Strong points!
    Good company values.
    honesty.
    trustworthy.
extensive knowledge of the job they are performing.
    the ability to execute.
