    Septic repair

    Cesar was awesome. There were several challenges on the job and he did a great job getting everything done.

    Septic system replacement

    When things go well it is easy to be happy and pleased. The installation of our septic system did not go well. That said, Cesar and crew earned 5 stars and I explain why. Mettle is defined as a person's ability to cope well with difficulties or to face a demanding situation in a spirited and resilient way.
    Cesar’s team is the definition of mettle.
    Everything started off fine. We interviewed several contractors and Cesar impressed us the most. We set a start date and then the town misplaced the paperwork. Cesar rolled with it and graciously accommodated the delay, even though he had juggled his schedule to start early as we had a closing scheduled for the sale of the house. Our new system was in a different location than the old system. While excavating Cesar came across a couple of rocks the size of an SUV. He handled it. The town had come to the house before the job started and marked the water lines – or so we thought. They marked something different because when the excavation was nearly finished, the water main was punctured. The town had not properly marked the line. Cesar pinched off the line until the town could locate the shut-off. We had three water department trucks here as they searched for the shut off. Cesar handled it all like a pro. The excavation work was great. While code required a 3’ width on either side of the new septic line, Cesar added an additional 5 feet on each side so there was plenty of room to lay out the new system. When the town, for reasons unknown, refused to allow him to put any of the prior fill back in next to the 6 feet of sand, he trucked in an extra 10 loads of sand (at $800 a load) to fill the whole area with sand and trucked out all that extra fill.
    Despite cost overruns that clearly wiped out any profit on the job and complications (beyond his control) that turned a 2-week job into a 4-week job, Cesar maintained his composure. He handled it all like it was no big deal. When a project goes according to plan it is easy to be seem like a hero. You don’t get to see what a contractor is like until the job has some ugly twists and turns.
    The workmanship looked great. His crew was wonderful to deal with. Cesar was exceptional. I hope your system project goes better than ours. Our problems were a litany of outside factors and none that seemed to be Cesar’s fault, yet he handled everything.
