Chad Whittington offered and array of renovations for a reasonable and he brought Dale Reasoner as his partner.
A list of items to fixed in the house was provided to ensure completion estimated totaling 21k. The project was divided and different pieces as I wanted to observe how things were done and control the budged. It is worth noting that the original work was estimated at over 20K, but the quote did not provided details of the work, which I a later on requested a breakdown of each item and cost. 50% of each piece of the work was paid upfront for material.
Chad and his crew will move through several pieces of the project, collect 50% for materials, but never finished a single task. For example, they will start with painting a wall, then decided to change the trim of the house, then start work on the bathroom and so forth. A little over $16,000 was paid up for a work that was never complete. Dale and his partner will continuously ask for an advancement and will justified the delay of the pending work due to items being ordered, shipping issues, etc.
Dale Reasoner was appointed by Chad to complete the project and toward the last few weeks of his work stated that Chad left with all of the cash, but gave his commitment to finish the work. However, the same behavior was observed with Dale as far as asking for cash advancement, and then disappearing for several days at the time without contacting me. In the end, I gave specific deadlines and milestones completion for specific work before drawing another payment, which he couldn’t met and therefore, Dale services were no longer needed. However, he expected payment for work that was never completed and threaten to contact the city as some of the work performed did not had the proper permit. I explain to Dale why payment was not going to be issued, showed him what he considered a finished a product (which is not by any stretch of the imagination) and why it was not acceptable.
Dale warned me via text that he was going to file and mechanical lien against my property. I consulted with an attorney and he mediated the situation with Dale. The attorney clearly explained the ramifications of filing a mechanical lien against the property. The attorney contacted Chad to understand what was exactly “owed” and why they thought the was complete.I know at least two other clients that have gone through the same experience with Chad and Dale.

We met, paid up front, work never completed, excuses was given, I asked for my money back and all text and calls were ignored. $31,000 gone down the drain. I am trying to fight this and contact an attorney for all my funds.
