Do not trust the individual running this company. Champion Pools "went out of business" while building our pool a few years back. Rick Mosher was the owner and we contracted with him may of 2006 to build our pool. The contract was structured similar to other pools with 30% at closing, 30% at excavation and 30% at tile and coping. We were left with a gunite hole with tile and coping for over a year. No deck, no equipment...nothing. He used the funds we gave to finish a previous pool, regrettably we were at the end of his pyramid scheme.
End the end, he did put a deck in that was so sub-standard that it had iron filings throughout and was covered in rust stains within weeks and was horrid within months. He had to use a supplier from South Houston, I believe, since none of the suppliers or subs around The Woodlands would do business with him. Since we had no plaster or equipment, we had to finish the pool ourselves and the $42K pool ended up costing us almost $60K to complete. The pool we contracted in May 2006 was finally completed in July 2007! (and unfortunately there were three other customers in the same boat as us).
PLEASE have all customers and suppliers check CURRENT statements, customers and suppliers. The owner will completely LIE to your face if it is required.
I am COMPLETELY APPALLED to see he is back undergoing business as Champion Pools and will be contacting our attorney to see if we are still within statute of limitations to file suit.
