We recommend Jim Cupp of Chance Construction for any work that needs done. He is licensed and bonded, and knows what he is doing. And, he is very picky with his work, being somewhat a perfectionist. He never cuts corners, and does it right the first time. He will make suggestions or offer alternate lower cost ideas. We never hesitate to call him for a job big or small. We are very happy with his work and would be glad to show it to anyone interested.
1. He has done general maintenance and construction for us for the last 5 or 6 years. We have an older home, rental trailer, and a rental modular home.
2. He remodeled a bathroom in one of our rentals. This included extensive plumbing overhaul.
3. He built an 8X10 storage shed on a cement foundation and remodeled another one.
4. He has installed and replaced gutters.
5. He spray painted the outside of one of the rental trailers.
6. He placed new door handles/locks on our former daughter-in-law’s home.Harold and Ruthie Krueger

Jim Cupp has done a variety of work for us over the years. He is honest and good at all the jobs we have seen, from woodworking to construction to remodeling. He always strives to find the least expensive way to proceed in any job, and he makes suggestions. I am a perfectionist, and I can honestly say that Jim is also. We are very pleased with his work. He keeps you informed, consults with you, and doesn’t just bulldoze his way through. He will say if something is out of his expertise. His work is pretty awesome, and I have learned so much from him as a homeowner.
Some of the things he has done for us:
• He fixed a continual leak in our rental trailer, not only fixing the window, but finding massive rot in the end of the trailer. Some of our heavier renters could have fallen through. After taking the wall and siding completely off, (causing me heart failure,) he rebuilt the entire joist system under the end.
• When putting our electrical lines underground, he prepped everything so the electrician could just come in and place the line through the casing, then finished it.
• He reattached our back porch, where rotten wood caused a 1 ½ inch difference from top to bottom, and redid the sides of the porch for my very heavy wisterias.
• Rebuilt around our house roof, where the gutters were improperly attached, causing rot under our roof.
• He replaced our 3 inch dryer venting pipe with a 4 inch pipe, cutting an 8 inch long hole in our foundation. Clothes dry a lot faster, and it is much safer, after seeing all the moist lint clogging the old system.
• Reset our $1500 Pella window where the caulk had come loose and water leaked under the siding. It will never leak again the way he did it! He is going to do all our windows. The glass shop’s insurance said we should have recaulked as ROUTINE MAINTENANCE on 6 year old windows. Honestly, who checks their fairly new caulking???
