James Stewart claims that he owns this business and has been in business for years. If that is the case he has zero customer service skills. Things he did:
1. Talked over my wife constantly
2. Estimated that we would need 3,6,7 pounds of Freon
3. Magically our system was 7 pounds low so he charged us for 7 pounds but says he put in 8 lbs. (A/C had been working but slowly noticed it couldn't keep up)
4. Wanted cash or check from a local bank
5. We gave him a check from USAA and he LOUDLY bad mouthed Military and USAA saying "You people" always bounce checks
6. Did not have his own ladder, required my wife to find him a stool
7. Lectured my wife on keeping fresh filters
8. Threatened to tell American Home Shield that our filters being dirty would be cause for AHS not to pay for low Freon
9. When confronted about low ratings he said he didn't care about those...
10. He didn't show my wife gauge readings before and after putting Freon inDon't use this guy he will rip you off! He charges $60 per pound of 410a too.

Through American Home Shield James, the owner of Changing Winds was given our account. He contacted us immediately. Our central Air was totally down. He came the very next day after 6;00 pm and he replaced the condenser fan motor within 1.5 hours. He was very professional and even offered preventative maintenance suggestions Thank you James. I would recommend Changing Winds without reservation.

We were assigned to Changing Winds by American Home Shield because our AC went out. We put in the order early Tues. We have not heard from them by that evening, so we reached out at end of day. Knowing we would not be near out phones the next day (Wednesday), wanted to make sure we got an appointment ASAP. The owner, James, picked up stating he could make it out Thursday, but needed to be in front of his computer to set an exact time. James said he would call back first thing the next day (Wednesday) to confirm the time Thursday. James would also give us a 30 minutes heads up once he is on the way, Thursday. I heard nothing the next day (Wednesday). When we called him first thing Thursday to confirm the time, he rambled on about being busy and that he could call me that night to get me set for Friday, possibly. When we tried to bring up the fact that James said he would be out that day (Thursday) he said "Have a nice day" and HUNG UP ON US! Now it will only go to voicemail! DO NOT GET THIS COMPANY! He is rude and will not set an appointment because he cannot stick to his stated times. Also, it is May, our house is 85 degrees, we have 2 dogs ,and my wife a medical condition effected by heat. Not to mention when we log into American Home Shield, he changed out status to "appointment set"! Needless to say we complained and got a new VERY nice contractor.

Changing Winds is ridiculously horrible. He was assigned to us through American Home Shield. He worked on A/C 3 times! Did not fix properly each time. He charged $70 lbs for Freon. After having to have a different company come out to fix my issue correctly, I could out he was a con artist. He charged for 8 lbs of Freon, only issue is that I have a 5 lbs limit A/C!! Adding 1 lbs for line fill of the unit, he stole $140 from us for the 2 additional “fictitious ” lbs that my unit physically could not hold. Stay away from this fool.
