    Chariker Construction is a crook. He provided a bid of $25 to &30K to complete a remodel of my home. He neglected to advise me he was billing me based on a cost plus contract, meaning charging labor by the hour. The price was also supposed to include $3400 plumber cost, and $6500 hardwood floor finishing. I paid for those services and received an invoice of $30K when I told him I was over budget and had no more money he comtinued to send his team to my home and invoices me another $8K. He charged me the time it took his team to pack up their tools and called in hurricane prep. All of the work was interior and one day I came home to find his team painting the exterior of my windows. When I asked why I was told we can’t access the house because the floors are still wet. Work was performed I didn’t request. Mr. Chariker came to my home to oversee progress 1 time. The reason for this is he is employeed at a large construction firm and this is his side business. He put a lien on my home for the balance of his invoices. I hired an attorney To review my invoices and stated I had a solid case of fraudulent billing and improper lien filed. In the end it came down to #s, settle out of court of pay expensive attorney fees. I ended up paying about 50% of the lien. Be careful!!!
