Chet Fortier

I hired Chet in November for an emergency rook leak, he came and handled the job efficiently and have had no problems with Repair. This past week I reached out to him with basement flooding, he was at my house the next morning with a temprary fix, reviewd options and prices with me, and I opted to hire him for a permanent sump pump/basement cleanout. He has a great sense of humor, a vast knowledge of old houses and can repair anything. I will use his services again and highly recommend.

Came to my home to give me an estimate despite it being a rainy day. He seemed very knowledgeable and offered suggestions that made sense, however I went with another company to complete my project and was very happy with them.

Front entry door replacement and basement window replacement

Chet did a wonderful job on our two projects. Front entry door replacement, including storm door, and basement window replacement. He was professional, methodical, and collaborative.

We would highly recommend Chet for his contracting restorative work and would hire him again.

Chet did great quality work! We love our new finished basement. When we were unsure of the best layout near our utilities, he assessed the situation and made a suggestion that we ended up going with and it’s great! He was thorough and up front about costs and laid out a schedule of payment based on parts of the job being finished. He also brought in other specialized contractors (like an electrician) when needed and set things up so I paid them directly. He coordinated the project with everyone needed- electrician, plumber, building department, etc - which made things really easy for us. I would hire him again!

This project was extremely stressful for us as it started with a tree falling through the roof and over two rooms of the house. It even damaged our pool. My 75 yo mother in law was very worried about the whole nightmare. Chet has been incredibly patient and kind to both of my in-laws the entire time. He has explained things thoroughly and repetitively. The work is exceptional, detailed, done quickly and beautiful. Chet has gone WAY above and beyond for all of us. We will always be grateful for his kind soul and giving spirit. He’ll be the first, and only, contractor we call in the future!

Chet was great! To have a contractor today that shows up everyday and is not running off every couple hours to do another job is truly amazing! We spoke every day and he really listened to me. I was so pleased I added to my original plan and he got the whole thing done in a timely manner. Would highly recommend Chet!

My house needed to be upgraded before listing it in the Spring. I hired Chet. Chet hired subs to do work on my house who were not trained. As a consequence all the framing that was done had to be removed. Further, either Chet or his subs stole my personal property. As a result I fired Chet. I do not recommend this contractor. Chet also did not hire a dumpster but threw all the debris in my garage. This cost me an additional $1000 to clean-up and remove. Chet used my antique furniture as a table for cutting wood which damaged the surface of the table. This contractor is unprofessional and should not be licensed.

Chet is fast, efficient, honest, has a great sense of humor, and communicates well. His prices and services are reasonable and he is highly recommended for your construction or remodeling needs!

My husband met with all the contractors we had asked about the project-Chet was the only one that he felt was the correct person to have this project completed. Project has not started as of yet just signed the contract but we are confident it will be done correctly and 100% sure we will love it.

Chet was great to work with and did an excellent job replacing my porch columns.
He stayed within the quote for both the price and timeline and did the repair so well you could not even tell they were replaced. He was like a surgeon removing them and like and artist replacing them not disturbing any of the original woodwork that did not need to be replaced thus keeping the cost down.
He was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him.

Chet would go pickup the supplies and send me a picture to make sure it was the item I wanted. Chet was always early and very pleasant.

Chet did a closet addition for me and kept me informed about what was going on. Supply Chain issues slowed the door delivery by a week or 2 but Chet let me know what was going on,
I have an ill family member and he was very considerate and he could see that they were not looking very well on Easter Weekend so he put off construction for a day or two until they could handle the noise that comes from construction.

We had a small but inconvenient cabinet job that Chet was able to complete for us. He was very responsive and was able to help us the day of posting the project. Came over and completed the job just like he had said with flying colors. Would recommend Chet for any home renovation work!

Everything went very well and we are completely satisfied. The door looks great and works as it should. I would definitely recommend Chet for any project that someone may need.

Excellent work, efficient with their time, cleanliness and attention to detail on a job that involved on an old 1867 house tearing up old maple flooring, laying down new subflooring and reinstalling a support post. Chet also created a plumbers trap door to access kitchen sink plumbing. Very impressed with their work. Reasonable cost and was able to come on short notice. Will definitely hire again.

Chet and his team demo'd some of the existing interior walls, constructed a level wooden floor throughout, added felt to interior walls, and built a work bench Barn is ~1840's. Chet provided valuable recommendations and advice. Work was done promptly and on budget. I would definitely work with him again in the future. This project is a major step change for this old barn - it now has a new future!

Mr. Fortier delivers a excellent quality job for an extremely reasonable price. He explains the process, what to expect, and answers questions you may have intelligently, easy to understand and on point. So pleased with his work, that I had him help me with other projects around the house, while we waited for inspections, etc. I would hire him again for any other jobs that may come up.

Chet was able to find a solution to a complicated problem of a deck built on top of a flat roof, which was leading to siding rot. He rebuilt the framing, installed a rubber roof, and installed composite decking. Beyond that, his attention to detail and communication throughout the project was great. We would recommend him to anyone.

When BuildZoom connected me to Chet Fortier for repairs in my condo, he handled my request quickly, intelligently and professionally. He asked questions on the phone, then came to assess the job in person and assigned one of his workers to complete the job. The workman showed up
promptly, wearimg a mask and gloves, at the time agreed upon, and came with all needed tools. He worked quickly and competently, and wven noticed a project that needed doing, that I had forgotten about. Allmof the work was completed amd done well, in the amount of time Chet had estimated and I had agreed to. I was happy to pay Chet the amount we had agreed upon, and even gave the workman a small tip, because he had to run out for a part for the extra job he noticed.
