Buyer beware of Chris Worden, LLC General Contractor. This contractor charges 22% on the cost of materials. A siding job was priced but did not include caulk or nails in the price quoted for materials. The cost plus contract was vague as to what materials were included in the proposed estimated cost of materials. The quoted hourly rate is $80 per hour for journeyman level worker. The average hourly rate in Palm Coast/Flagler Beach area is 35 for journeyman level work per hour per man. Chris Worden snatched the bill of materials out of my hand which was given to me by the driver from Allstar Building Materials, LTD when materials were delivered to my home. Chris Warden stated the bill of materials was his property and I would not be given a copy. The estimated cost of materials delivered per Lowes and Home Depot website totaled $5,734.67. Material cost from Allstar Building Materials, LTD totaled $5,484.74 excluding tax. Per the signed proposal an invoice would be billed weekly (Thursday to Thursday). Upon requesting an invoice Marcus Sparks contacted me and I was told that is not the way they do business and a refund of the balance would be issued. Upon arrival at my house Marcus Sparks had a cost break down on a yellow legal pad paper and would not give me a copy. Marcus Sparks was hesitant when I wanted a picture of the document. I did get a picture of the cost break down. I was asked for my copy of the signed proposal. I wrote void on it, signed and dated it as I was about to hand the pen for Marcus Sparks to sign, Marcus Sparks snatched the paper out of my hand and walked off my property. I was charged $1,206.64 for profit and overhead on $5,484.74 worth of materials. I would not recommend this general contractor. I fwas being taken advantage of by this general contractor. Ask questions and ensure your contract clearly spells out what is included in the material cost quote and what is an additional cost.
